Congratulations in particular to these games:

Most Promising Demo: Necropolis

It seems like the full version of this epic episodic game got people excited! It has been, what 5 years in the making? Wow. Well deserved! Congratulations ArtBane & Volrath!

Well, yeah. that's why I posted it.
Wow, this is pretty overwhelming. Thanks to the voters and everyone who was enthusiastic about the game over the years. What a way to go out.

isn't master of the wind from a couple of years back?
It's been released in seven installments that are each about 4-5 hours. The community has treated them as different games over the years. We did finally finish the entire thing in late 2011, so we won't be eligible again next time.

A great showing for Volrath and ArtBane. I definitely look forward to their next project! (You guys are going to do another project, right? Right?)
Good job, Volrath, ArtBane. I should really try out Master of the Wind-I was looking at its gamepage awhile ago, but was too lazy to download it.
I congratulate the winners and boo the losers. LOSERS, MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Now I run away. Here's to next year. 8D
Wow, there are games which only got 1-2 votes that made the lists. It just goes to show that every vote counts.

Congrats to the winning games!
I'm pretty sure MotW was making waves when I STARTED RPGMaking. Y'know, when I was 10. I never got very far in it, but that's awesome anyway. :)

Thanks for the support. I didn't anticipate getting more votes than the subscription-juggernaut that is Forever's End. Never heard of Master of the Wind, but it sounds like a game I'll be checking out soon.

Your game totally deserves it. Hands down, it's the best game I played all year.

Emphasis mine. Shouldn't have been near the list for this year's awards.

Why not? He completed the full episodic game this past year by releasing the final episode.

Episodes are separate games, only the latest one should've been considered for the Misaos instead of the whole back-catalogue. It's like the difference between going up against Star Wars: Episode 3 (awful) for an award or going up against the whole Star Wars series for an award; it's not really fair on the other participants that they have to go up against a collective of 7 different games when most of those games were released several years ago.

Not that I'm saying this would've changed the results, I just don't think a series that has 7 releases deserves to be considered for awards each year as a collective.

EDIT:

Besides, it's shite. But that's not really a criticism of the awards process.
