Please learn to speak.
Who's all Canadian? It would be awesome if we had one from each province. I've got Alberta covered.
Has it been a while since someone last introduced themselves?
I'll refresh the thread with an introduction ( and isn't from Canada D: )

Hello~
I was born in Japan lived there for 11 years then moved to California.
My dad was in the navy and always brought back games for my SNES.
I grew up off of the Super Mario games, Final Fantasy series, and Legend of Zelda series.
However, I do not make games, I don't think I have the patience or intellect to
make one. If anything, I like character design (sketches, colour etc)

This site became known to me since I commissioned a guy on Gaia
(Gaia Online. Yeah. Get over it.) to make a short RPG for me.
It's going smoothly--I was happy that I could make the title screen for my game.
Anyway, point is, I was wondering if there were RPG makers out there who also make games / demos
and are available for people to download and play.
I don't really know why I registered.
Perhaps when I finish playing some demos and completed games I can leave feedback?
Oh well. It was spur of the moment.

A top ten game list for me : (not in any order of favoritism)

1. Final Fantasy VI
2. Grandia II
3. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
4. Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars
5. Star Ocean Till The End of Time
6. Harvest Moon 64
7. Soul Calibur I
8. Soul Calibur III
9. Tales of Phantasia
10. Final Fantasy VII

...yeah I'm done.

1. Final Fantasy VI
2. Grandia II

I like you already.

Also, the Games section has a lot of good stuff. You can sort by rating to see what is rated the best by other users. We're always welcome to more well-made reviews!

Akane, take a look at:

Blurred Line by Lysander
Kinetic Cipher (Again) by Brickroad
Legacies of Dondoran by Harmonic
Hero's Realm by kentona
Three the Hard Way by iishenron
Love and War by AdmiralStyles
Master of the Wind by ArtBane
The Frozen World by Lysander (WIP will love you)

There are other games worth playing of course, but these are some good starting points. Also, one I recommend that is NOT on this site is:

Last Scenario by Origami. (Fairly easy to find with Google)
Other games off the site, for a primer, in case you haven't played any of these: The Way, by Lun Calsari, at lun.cjb.net. And Everlong, at http://www.nealien.com/Everlong/. And, if you want a laugh, The Sword and the Fish (www.swordandthefish.com), I guess.

Especially The Way. It's awesome.

Otherwise, you can't really go wrong with any of Karsuman's recommendations. Welcome to the site!

Thank you very much!
I'll look into those over the course of winter
vacation.
I downloaded The Blurred Line last night and
was a few minutes in after the opening.
It seems good so far~
Love and War along with The Frozen World
were some other ones I was looking at the reviews,
ratings, and screens for last night also.

Thanks a ton~!
I'm going to try and get all these games in.
At the moment,
I'm trying out that one humorous game,
'Corporal Buggy Bear?'

anyway, thanks for the recommended games for me to try out
and the greetings :]
I never made such a post here, so here is my meandering effort.

My name is Edgar Allanwood.

I am from North-West England and I study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Bristol in the South-West. If I don't cock it up I'll probably be an engineer one day.

I'm tall, very thin and have soon-to-be shortened long, curly, dyed black hair on my 20 year old head.

My major passions in life are all creative ones except for my girlfriend. If any creation goes on their I'm in serious shit.

I enjoy creating music (Electronica and Rock),
RPGs (See Kryberia coming to a PC screen near you),
Short Films,
Drawing Robots,
3d level design,
3d and 2d animated shorts,
Websites made in PHP and MySQL ( See http://indiegamingportal.net/index.php?action=portal )

Kryberia is my long-term project. I rarely work on it during term-time but this summer I will have a lot more free time so expect a major release then. The general concept is about the instigation of a supervolcano eruption, hence the first chapter's title: Instigation Magmatica.

My fave games are:
Tetris
FA/18 Hornet
Command and Conquer: Tiberian Dawn (aka C&C 95)
Duke Nukem 3D
HALF-LIFE (And most Valve games relating to it)
Mafia
Grand Theft Auto III (And NOT any of the crappy sequels)
A Blurred Line
Call of Duty 4
Final Fantasy 4,6 and 7
Metroid Series (I have hunters for DS if you wanna match)

and I admit to liking Halo's first installment up to that level where you reach the library and would rather have a jelfrazi enema than continue.

I'm liking this site so far, good job getting it up and running and people posting.

I am trying to get my boss to play me in a game of C&C 95 on the LAN at work, but we're too busy at the moment. He used to work in Vegas in an Oracle shop across the street from Westwood Studios. He almost got his company to help work on the game while it was in development.

Anywho, it might be of interest to know that the ISOs of the original C&C95 games have been released by EA as freeware this summer, in honor of the games 12th anniversary. That XCC place released a new .dll file to fix the LAN game issues in Windows XP. So, anyone who hasn't played that game, download the ISO and play it now!

...oh, and Eddie's a good guy. We go way back.

I never introduced myself so I better do it ^^;

My name is Jasmin Toral

I am from the Philippines originally that moved to the land of Kangaroos named Australia since my future is bleak in my hometown. I'm a 17 year old Year 11 student.

I love drawing and writing stories. I simply love art! I can't stop drawing from the bottom of my heart and I got into game making because it makes me feel alive that I can make my creations move ^^;

I love to play video games but I can only depend on emulators so I don't know too much games. But here's what I like:

Final Fantasy 6,7,8, Tactics
Valkyrie Profile
Shin Megami Tensei
Shin Megami Tensei : Persona 3 (I really want to buy this one and I'm in the process of it ^^;)
Brigandine
Team Buddies (A cute lego game)
Legend of Legaia
Harvest Moon
Tales of Destiny
Tsukihime along with Kagetsu Tohya
Fate/Stay Night
Yggdra Union
Riviera: The Promised Land

...This is getting too long I better not tell them all ^^;

I tend to finish the RM games I'm playing and keep them all in my hard disk for some reason. I love The Blurred Line and Love and War, Romancing Walker for Laughs and Cell Chamber Chicane for RMXP, I wanted to see Eternal Souls finished but it wasn't *cries in the corner*

Overall, nice to meet everyone :)

Ness is rad, for the record.
Hi, my name is Dr. Casey. You may know me from such places as Gaming World and the Kinetic Cipher forums. And even if it's not appropriate to the topic, I will now express how sad I am that Ragnarok818 never released an Epoch III. I've always loved those little games, especially considering the amount of improvement made in the sequel when it came to characterization and dialogue.

I recognize you!

Also, it has been a loooooong time since I've seen Epoch mentioned. I remember back when that game was a big deal. =)
Hello, Mr. Karsu. It's been a long time since we've discussed RPGs back at Gaming World. So long, in fact, that I'm not sure that's ever really happened.

Epoch was a big deal at one time? I thought it was an obscure game that was never given the spotlight it deserved. I only played them very recently, though (the original in October and the second in November), so I probably missed their prime by a few years. The experience curve kind of annoyed me because of how it basically stopped progressing after a certain point (though I can't deny that it's one of the most balanced curves I've seen in an RPG Maker game regardless), but that's my only fault with the series. I liked the writing in the original game well enough, but Ragnarok818 displayed a lot of talent in the sequel when it comes to dialogue. Thomas and Marion were much harsher and taciturn than they were in the original, although Marion probably went overboard a time or two and deserved a good punch in the jaw.

Casey. Anyone who was on the KC(A) boards is a friend here! Go write a review on it and get more people to play it.
Now that I think about it, I never really did introduce myself (131 posts later) so I guess here it goes.

My name is Clayton Myers. I am 15 years old living in Canada. I use my computer quite often, but I do enjoying other things (if only there were a little more to do at my house :() I enjoy Counter Strike and all sorts of RPG games. I also REALLY enjoy creating everything. I like playing with 3d modeling, creating environments and maps for counter-strike, and the like. I am also a physics junkie (not doing physics work, but playing with ragdoll physics etc.) I recently stumbled across a program called endorphin which I enjoy using frequently. You should check it out if you like physics etc.
