$90 was a bit "too" much since initially it was just an updated version of VX, like 2k3 was to 2000. But, with the loads of new scripts that have come out, it's nice that they reduced the price, so that more people can buy this~ :)

At that price, who'd ever want VX when they can get Ace for $10 more? They should have lowered VX to around $40 to still give it the cheaper alternative between the two.
Shouldn't have wait for the price to go down. (but at least using discount code help lower the price a bit in my purchase)
author=amerkeviciusIf VX was lowered that much, then it'd be in the same kind of situation with XP. Enterbrain could however, adjust the prices to something more suitable like $25 for XP, $50 for VX, and keep Ace the same. Of course this won't happen, but in my opinion it's a fairer price range, as XP is quite old now.

author=kentonaNot sure if you're joking, but I do hope they're working on a Metro-compliant RPG Maker. It would be a awesome if we could submit games to the Windows Store.
I'm waiting for RPG Maker Metro to come out.
I don't think it is a sale - I think it is a permanent price reduction.
Anywho, remember, if you bought any of the software or packs through RMN let me know so I can apply the Donator status to your account here at RMN. (I don't get the financial details of your transaction (of course) so I have no way of looking it up myself)

I think XP's days are waning faster than 2k3's, but it's more of an alternate to VX/Ace than a predecessor. At least for mapping; Ace is superior in other areas. You can still script and make pretty graphics, but the mapping tool is considered easier to use. These features may still make it a sellable product.
I basically skipped the entire XP cycle anyway. As did several others. I doubt lowering its price is going to affect sales or margins. Heck, it might even cut into VX's market share due to the perceived mapping advantages.
So, do I get any sort of compensation for adopting Ace with the full price when the price drop was so early?
I'm glad I got mine for $75 with the pre-order bonus! :D
This is good news, though. The more people using RPG Maker, the better, right?

I got my pre-order bonus even I didn't pay it during pre-order stage. They just sent me a special e-mail if I wanted to get free stuff and all I have to do is share rpg maker site in Facebook or twitter and got the pre-order bonus. So I think is isn't a pre-order bonus anymore.
Good news; now I have to get a job to pay for it :P
