Might I suggest having MULTIPLE Featured Games, and maybe changing one once a week or so?
I think it would be cool to have a featured game (overall best) category and a featured game (sleeper hit) category so we could feature two games at the time, an obscure and overlooked game and a not-necessarily overlooked game that's just plain awesome.

I agree with this idea. Better than just the one.

Yeah, really . . . having more than one featured game at a time would completely negate the purpose of the feature itself. I think MAYBE increasing the frequency of game updates would be a good idea, but even that's a stretch. The point is to get everyone playing the same game, and once it turns from one game and into a list of games, it won't work.

One thing you guys might want to do is add a little subsection at the top of the forums that shows the featured game or something like that. Cause, I dunno about you people, but I pretty much never go onto the main page.

That sort of thing (I think) is already planned in RMN3? Maybe we have to wait for WIP. Either way though it would be a great idea to post mainsite features on the forums as well.

I think that the community could handle being asked to check out/play two games at once, but probably not much more than that. I think two is kind of the "magic number" here.
Not much point disagreeing with WIP though, it's like trying to reason with a Terminator. :)

Then what is the big deal with people playing the same group of games. To be honest, everyone shouldn't be "playing the same game" anyway, play whatever the hell you want. Down with Featured Games!

Congrats on having Wilfred the Hero, pt. I featured. I actually managed to play and beat it last weekend. Expect a review from when when I get a chance to write one. I also tried Dragoon Legends, but got stuck after the first boss fight as other have reported in the corresponding post:
