the tactics advance games were pretty good from a gameplay point of view, i thought.
but god the writing was terrible. the whole concept was terrible. still, the raw gameplay was pretty solid. and i really enjoyed the class system, although fft's was better.

Locke of FFVI is my favourite. I have no smart reason. When I was 11 and first played the game I thought he was super cool, and that sort of thing doesn't go away easy.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention why I liked him! Well, Final Fantasy VII (I always say, Vee-Eye-Eye) was the first time a final fantasy game came to America, and I was hooked! He's so cool, but not too cool, ya know?
After that I bought all the older games that they remade, but they're just not as good.

I'm pretty mercurial, though, I usually get attached to any really excellent characters in a game I'm playing, and then forget about them.
