I am actually thinking of multiple engines, but ONE IS Rpgmaker VXA.

I could definitely give you like 40 pages describing Final Fantasy Smash Bros. characters and all their attacks in excrutiating detail if I still had my high school history notebook.
Still forever coding away at this ability, but getting closer to finally finishing it all up after 4-6 months or so of working on it. Who'd thought that one ability skillset would take that long? I could've had beta5 easily ready by that time, if not close to it! But then I'd have more work to do with the coding anyways so....@_@;;
@Adon: The concept sounds cool, personally I was a fan of Dissidia so Im all for this idea.
@LockeZ: Wow way to hype up that idea, but man thats extensive.
@Xenomic: Hey sometimes the best things take the most time, I started working on my game again at the beginning of the month, Im still finalizing the Battle System haha.
Getting some cut scenes completed for Revelations and finally turning these Word documents into movies haha.

I'm trying to plan how 50 different playable characters in Centuria will defer from one another. None of them are going to be 100% unique since the characters all use a class system, but I need to plan some original Burst techniques (spells which use TP and act as signature attacks) for all of them.
If I had to compare these characters to those from another game, I'd probably single out Chrono Cross in that a lot of characters can perform similarly in battle, but they all have a few unique attacks that require certain conditions (building up TP) to be met before they can be used.
Considering each character will have about five or six of these Burst abilities, I think I have my work cut out for me.

I'm working on taking off one of the VXA character's clothes.
...no, seriously. It's that thief guy with the red markings...under all that fur, HE'S FREAKING TINY. like, I think the girls are more beefy than he is

@UPRC: Thats pretty cool, I guess CC is the closest game to using a system such as the one you described, look forward to seeing it in action.
@SK: Dont you just love editting sprites, one of the most tedious things in the world.
Just got done with a major cut scene for my game, and fixing the action interruption bug in RM2k3. Shoutout to DHM for the tip. Lastly giving my players some real gameplay finally, I wonder how most people feel about cut scenes, are they a waste of time? Or do RPG players value a games story over the basic gameplay.

@Ashley- I wouldn't say I value the story over gameplay, I like to think they co-exist for the benefit of entertainment. But I always love cutscenes, when done well, of course.
I'm already placing character databases for Liberation Arms II already. But my progression for LA I is going well.
Lib Arms II is set in Taelo, a northern country above Arcadia, this time with a female heroine. This time with only 50 characters.

Doin' some work on Dragon Fantasy REMADE. Namely writing the dialogue and sending off map requests to Corfaisus. We're making steady progress!
I had to go back and re-balance the beginning of the game however, 'cause I was thrown off from switching between 2K and 2K3 as suddenly as I did. I was reminded that the DEF stat means much more in 2K than 2K3, and so armor gave a DEF boost that was much too big. It's all fixed now, though! So yay for that.

Yeah, I thought I over done it a little bit with around 121 characters, as much it does sound Suikoden for big characters. I have to minimize a little bit. When characters join inside your castle, and even in Liberation Arms I, you get some soldiers, etc to populate your castle.
Gonna work on Hassan Mine for Liberation Arms.
Dammit. I give up trying to make my generic enemy soldiers do MC Hammer and Michael Jackson dance moves constantly during combat. I can't make it look like dancing. I don't know if it's just that I'm awful, or a combination of the fact that I'm awful and the fact that RMXP RTP style sprites have no elbows or knees.

Damn, 121? I'm doing about 54 characters in total (which feels extreme in my mind) and even that is pretty challenging. A lot of characters are similar because they share classes, but there are going to be a lot of unique TP skills. I can't imagine trying to make 121 different characters stand out or seem varied. Coming up with 121 distinct faces must have been a hell of a task.
@InfectionFile: How do you feel about skipable cut scenes? I tend to make events a little longer than necessary so Im going back and making the longer scenes skipable. I feel like with RPGmaker games you have people who just like the story, people who just like gameplay, and then people who appreciate both aspects. This way players wont be forced to watch long scenes.
Also working my Relationship System. Allows the player to make friends or enemies with key NPCs, since the game is a dungeon crawler there will be no random chests in peoples houses. But if you befriend them you will get gifts that can be obtained at Save Points or in town.

Personally, I think skippable cut scenes are extremely helpful if the scene is right before a boss. Because otherwise, you're gonna have to rewatch it every time you die.
The rest of the time, skipping a scene isn't a feature I use my first time through the game, but the option is still nice to include for people who are on their second playthrough, or who died in an odd location / after forgetting to save for a while.

It takes time to find any resources to use them. And actually, Liberation Arms I was put back to 116 characters, this is only because I forgot that I'm using templates for chapter names, to remember part of the story in the character database.
*le gasp* I actually finished the world map area for Chapter 1. Now I've just got to decide whether to keep on working on the world map (which is a decent idea), and if so, which parts to work on. Part of me feels the much smaller new Chapter 3 area would be the best, since ya'know, it's smaller. It's still a decent sized continent, but it's nothing like Chapter 1/2/4/5. Though a lot of the stuff in Chapter 5 is wide-open areas, which poses a lot more challenge than the more content-packed world map areas...
It's like, I want to make the map both aesthetically and geographically pleasing but while still not making giant plains for the player to traverse. I can do this with either rivers or mountains - the latter being the cheap way out since geographically speaking, those don't typically work as well as one would think. Of course, then I'm reminded of FF2j's world map where the ENTIRE northern section was partitioned off by mountains.
Still, if I do rivers, that poses a navigation problem, since they inevitably do flow out into the sea/ocean, and by doing so block the player's path indefinitely. The easy fix is to put a bridge over the river, but in the middle of the frigid/arid wilderness, there ain't gonna be anyone there to make a solid bridge. Part of me thinks I'm just thinking too hard about all this and I should just make a GAME instead of some kind of geographically and geologically correct world. :P
Otherwise... being a derp and running the intro a bazillion times (which I still have to solidify and not make into a textdump) and brainstorming skill names so I'm not stealing from another series.
'Course my brain is getting into a mood that no one really cares anymore, but this is also after reading that huge topic on PP and wondering whether I should represent myself in the conversation (which I probably shouldn't), and also seeing one of my old supporters go apeshit on my choice of engine. BUT, yeah, sensitive me needing to grow skin.

Please release something, trance2. Even if you make it in like, a month, but it'll be really cool since you're a really good developer :3
