GAMINGW.NET GONE?
Posts
Okay so I have been very busy lately so my time on the net has been sparse, so when I tried to to go lurk on GW both the site and forum have been replaced with one of those fake websites, so anyone want to fill me in on what happened over there?

Wait wtf? What's Salt World.

gamingw died in 2005, fully decomposed by 2008, and is now just corpse dust flying on the four winds
I don't really know what happened to that place. When I started getting interested in the community we started hanging out irl and doing big get togethers... then all these other idiots seemed to ruin the whole site by spiting down the neck of RPG Maker users as lesser human beings. It ruined Bart's site, who is an alright guy irl, so I am sad for his loss.
The salt world name really stupid though. I'm glad there's activity again, but really? Salt? Yeah, close the gates of anyone potentially interested in anything... but salt? What is the site about now? Who will even bother going there except people who know what it -was-?

Such a dumb move. I expect nothing less from those guys now. Sadly, as that site died, so did our irl meetings. Still talk to them on occasion, but we all sort of went our separate ways for the most part. :(
RIP GW Meets.

I still remember those gw meets you guys had. I remember the topics with the photos and all that jazz. Good stuff man. Too bad I was too young to even think about being in the meet.
Now that I remember, when I was barely starting out, GW seemed really close and snug. Everyone knew everyone (well not exactly). Sure, there some cold elitists here and there, but that's what I think helped shaped people up into great gaem makers by improving their game so even the elitists would be impressed.
Of course, this is merely my opinion and my point of view.
(I guess this is now turning into a "Reminisce the good ol days" topic.)

straight from the mouth of hypocrisy
I'm not sure I get the analogy geodude. Did rpgmaker.net ever suddenly change its name from something to something else?
