CloseWell not that they need to be on here (tuts), but Google can help find those. I won't argue about that. I could learn to pixel, and do custom graphics in that sense, and I probably should have. My point I was trying to make, is what Lennon said, about the Genocide of the games. What I did is wrong in terms of copying, but I had permission, but at the same time I was doing what a lot of people already have done in the past, present and will do in the future of gaming. I don't mean just this site.

Oh man, is this issue old. I don't really care if a game uses rips and such because I don't see our rm games having much financial impact on the games we rip from. I have bought most of these games at some point in the past. It's kinda fun as a means to tell a story. Thing is though, this is hypocritical. If an rm game maker took the time to make all original content, I would defend this stance against theft. But if you have rips in your game at all, may NO ONE defend you once someone steals from your game folder. You felt it was alright to appropriate resources so don't think its different when someone does the same to you. Being that person is the worst of three evils.

Actually the translated 2K3 is. The one that was released only in Japan is okay. I think.

Also, you know how long it took my friend to even get the okay from him to use it? Over a year. Even if I made a game that used 100% of his stuff, he'd not even notice. Not going to do that, and it is wrong to think like that. I'm just saying that he basically has not done much else work in the terms of gaming as far as I'm aware of.
Also I planned to remove all of the charasets that were original, once I got the basic story down. Then all I need to do is switch out those graphics.

I tend to agree with this. I was not made aware of any complaints (that doesn't mean there weren't any).
Also, this topic is specifically against the rules. If you have something you would like to discuss with the site staff, send a PM. You can tell who the staff are by their different color names.
EDIT: Just for clarification if we receive a copyright complaint about anything it will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken. If the creator of Exit Fate asked us to remove the game because they used custom resources that they made this would be a 100% valid reason for us to remove the game.

Let me make this clear: if you do not like this site then leave. You were denied no right as you claim as no one is entitled to free game hosting and/or most other services we provide. There are numerous legitimate ways you could have resolved this problem with the site staff, but instead you decided to make an entire thread denouncing the site staff and policies without ever allowing them to elaborate on the issue or attempt to resolve your problem.
ankylo is right, we typically monitor copyright infringement issues only passively i.e. when we receive a takedown request from the copyright holder or an authorized agent. However, in this unique instance your game was caught actively during the submission queue process. Given the stance you have taken since, I will stand behind that decision. If you can provide documentation that describes your rights to the resources in questions this decision can be reversed. Feel free to PM me or e-mail the documents to rcholbert@rpgmaker.net; do not make a new topic on this issue.
The double standard issue is moot given this is a community that originated with the distribution of illegally translated and released ASCII/Enterbrain products -- times have since changed. Though rips may be considered tacky, they are still considered acceptable by the social norms of the community. Taking original and/or commissioned resources without permission from another user or an indie project is not, however. There is honor even amongst thieves.
