Zombie fans will love this game

Zombie Survival reminds me of my own project, Morbid Awakening which was originally titled Vigour of the Fellowship a long time ago. So what if it's not your basic epic rpg game. If you like comedy, rpg games and zombies then this is the game for you...

GAME PLAY

The gameplay isn’t fantastic but it’s good enough to keep the player going. There are two shops in the whole game where you can buy weapons and Items. For the game not being an epic rpg, you’ll be quite surprised how many weapons there are. My favourite would be the chainsaw. The bad thing about the Items is that too many of them do the same thing. I liked journeying through the city as the maps were well made. Although the inner maps where huge with little inside them, they were still good enough I suppose. Playing this game requires you to go through the city joining up with characters and finding Items and objects. The battles are challenging at the start for new players and newbies but get way easier during progression. The bosses weren’t challenging either as all they did was do stronger damage than your general zombies and had much more health which meant no tactics were really involved to slaying them. The characters lacked skills and many of them used the same variety such as defence up skill. I found that quite boring but I think the creator was going for something more realistic than a fantasy rpg game. I enjoyed wandering through the maps and catching mice. This game uses touch enemies and random encounters which only happen on the main city map. (Ok one thing I would consider revising is where you encounter the boss nemesis. The sprite ran diagonal through map and vanished after battle before it even got near the player, just looked a bit weird I guess)

STORY/PLOT

Ok what can I say, it’s just as it says on the description where the main character sets off to kick zombie ass on the way. You meet many different characters or survivors and some of the characters are very funny where a lot of humour is involved. There isn’t anything else really to say but that some of those characters you bump into join your party and I think I ended up with like 8 characters altogether. The cat sucked though. But anyways the good thing about the story not being so great is that there wasn’t so much boring text to read and you get the point already when the game starts off. The bad thing about the story and plot was that because there wasn’t much of it, you had no clue where to head next. I got to the police station and the exit part. Went back looking around all over town and couldn’t find where to head next.

MUSIC

Again, nothing much to say but that the music was used well. I don’t know if the creator made some of those tracks but they sounded like a mix of horror and rpg which really made the game feel like both. I thought it was pulled of well. I noticed the library had the RE2 track though. I liked the title screen music.

GRAPHICS

The graphics were great. Loved the use of blood and gore in the game. Made the game have more of a horrific look. Also, where did you get your zombie sprites because they rocked and you had a variety of different ones too. I especially thought the Title screen was over fantastical. Again, not much to say but also that your tile set was great too. It looks like you gathered up or made some great resources making your game look different to most.

OVERALL RATING

Zombie survival is a fun rpg/horror zombie game. It has comedy as well as some drawing gameplay and I believe all zombie fans, especially those who like rpg games will enjoy this game. The author knew what he was doing, although the game lacked a decent plot, the gameplay wasn’t super and the mapping wasn’t overall perfect but still a great game to try…
