Fat Schwombo's Castle

Fat Schwombo's Castle is an RM2K game that mixes a very polished and functional shooting ABS with a few other puzzle elements, but it is basically an action/shooting game. At each stage you're required to defeat a certain number of enemies. You have a limited number of bullets, it takes a certain number of shots to kill each enemy, and when you run out of ammo, you have to find certain spots (randomly set) in the map to reload. That's pretty much it.

There is a background story, which involves going after a bad guy who's hurting animals, but there's really no need to mention details about it, except that it involves Chuck Norris.

Here's what's great about the game:

1. The shooting system is fun in itself;
   Sound effects are very cool, including shot sounds, dying sounds, and voice acting like "Stage Clear!";
   Visual effects are also awesome... there's a thrill to each bullet you shoot, enemies lie in pieces on the ground after you defeated them (and they make a funny sound if you step on them)... it really makes killing fun;
   Dialogs are funny, but not overworked, and the game doesn't push too much on the comedy side, which is good;
   Graphics are mostly well made RTP edits, including some nice charsets and faces... Fat Schwombo's face is priceless!
   Difficulty is balanced... not too easy, but not hard enough to stress you out;
   Chuck Norris.

I really have no complaints about this game, but I'm not giving it 5 stars because its system + its style could account for a much larger/more interesting game, so the concept feels slightly underdeveloped... and because that statue shooting puzzle is super annoying.

Despite being a short and joke-ish game, Deacon clearly put a lot of work and thought on details, so everything looks nice, polished and appealing. Fat Schwombo's Castle only takes around 30 minutes to beat, so don't even think too much, just download it and play it, already!
