"Would you stake your life on a world that cannot be saved?"

Version 1.07 - Released May 4th, 2012

-Strategic turn-based battles reward careful positioning and smart actions over brute force.
-No typical HP/MP drudgery - Instead, battlers have Body, Mind, and Soul ratings that serve as both health and fuel for special abilities. Knocking any of them to zero means defeat, so heroes beware!
-No level grinding or money hoarding!
-Diverse elemental and weapon-versus-armor system for all sorts of exploitative goodness.
-Structured mission-based gameplay means you'll never have to wander around figuring out where to go next.
-Oh, and no random encounters either, because, seriously.
-Over a dozen colorful characters to recruit and train.
-20+ hours of adventure - multiple secrets, sidequests, and endings!

Version 1.07 Now Available!

Hello strangers!

I've released an updated version with a few minor changes for those interested. It is not a necessary download in the slightest.

Here is a list of changes in 1.07:

-There is now an actual, full-fledged manual included with the game.
-You can now fast forward through dialog boxes by holding the CTRL key.
-Allies now have varying ranges for their weapons. These ranges are shown on the characters' status screens. Enemies keep their default ranges.
-In the quest "The Light Harvest," allies who are supporting the main party should show up in the field now.
-In the quest "Pressing Forth," you can no longer con the NPC at the camp out of multiple items.
-Fixed a crash bug that occured when using Procure Status on a Kir Savant.
-Using Procure Status on a Kir Sentinel now produces the correct face and name.
-Fixed an issue where you could get stuck in the Interlude before Chapter 2.
-Dehl's potentially outrageous Agility rating has been tapered somewhat. (Note: not retroactive)
-Miscellaneous graphical and otherwise harmless glitches fixed.

Wow, this game has a great presentation, good job!
Not too keen on the 'outlined XP RTP' look you have going on there. Figured if you wanted to use a black outline, you'd make a chipset that needed to have outlines, not one shaded to not require them.

I started playing this and it is 100% fantastic. It's complex but also shows you everything you need to know; it has an intro full of intrigue but doesn't overwhelm you with names and jargon.

Excellent so far.

Just download the game already, guys; it's complete.
After some experience with the game, I really, really like the idea of having three specific HP values. It totally scrambles conventional RPG strategy, like focusing on a single enemy.

Other features (like the mode with the selector arrow) are kind of strange and maybe a little less organic. But I have to say that this is probably one of the most interesting games I have seen in a while.

Also I really like the writing! Although I haven't yet discovered how the intro fits in with the rest of the story.

Quoted for truth. This game makes tactical battles feel tactical - "alright, the archer will pick off the low-BODY value caster in the back while we pound this guy's SOUL."
Thanks for all the comments so far, folks! I'll be happy to answer questions and whatnot when I find time.

Yeah, the arrow pointer thing is a little slower than I'd hoped it'd be. My original intention was to have the mode be less of a navigation method and more of a point-and-click-adventure-type search, but I sort of scrapped that in favor of making it merely something more interactive than straight menus.

Deltree - I am pretty sure this is not intentional - but when I took the apple tree quest a very, very large portion of the map was covered in black, walkable tiles.

I was still able to beat the quest, but yeah. Figure you should know that.
That's disturbing. I'll check it out right now, thanks!
The quest given by "Off-duty Guard" early in chapter 1 says it's repeatable at the accept/decline message, but he doesn't pop up a quest balloon afterward.
Woo, good catch! I decided at one point that making that one repeatable made absolutely no sense, but I forgot to change that bit of text to reflect that. I'll put that into the next update too.

Phosphoro Spray (something like this, wielded by the mage-like bugs) is extremely overpowered. It almost instantly kills Dehl and does massive damage to everyone else.

This is on all settings normal, FTR.

Furthermore, my healing spells don't even get close to catching up to this damage.
Well, he does have Cold affinity. Let someone with Heat affinity or high Wisdom stand on the frontmost row, and keep everyone else a couple spaces back out of the area of effect range.
Man, I must say that this looks fantastic!
If it's not for my crappy internet, I would have download and play this game myself.
I absolutely love the graphics!
Does anyone else get an Internal Server Error when trying to download this game? If so, Deltree, you should try adding a new download. I really really REALLY want to play this game. It looks goddamn amazing.
this sounds like a game i have been waiting for for a while.
