Featured in the RPG Maker Bundle #1!

~RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE~

The Reconstruction was featured alongside a few really great games on the RPG Maker Web main site! Here is the link: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/23772-rpg-maker-free-game-bundle/

If you're reading this, you probably already played it ages ago, but I want to express my gratitude regardless! So, thanks for the positive buzz and whatnot that made this possible!

Version 1.07 Now Available!

Hello strangers!

I've released an updated version with a few minor changes for those interested. It is not a necessary download in the slightest.

Here is a list of changes in 1.07:

-There is now an actual, full-fledged manual included with the game.
-You can now fast forward through dialog boxes by holding the CTRL key.
-Allies now have varying ranges for their weapons. These ranges are shown on the characters' status screens. Enemies keep their default ranges.
-In the quest "The Light Harvest," allies who are supporting the main party should show up in the field now.
-In the quest "Pressing Forth," you can no longer con the NPC at the camp out of multiple items.
-Fixed a crash bug that occured when using Procure Status on a Kir Savant.
-Using Procure Status on a Kir Sentinel now produces the correct face and name.
-Fixed an issue where you could get stuck in the Interlude before Chapter 2.
-Dehl's potentially outrageous Agility rating has been tapered somewhat. (Note: not retroactive)
-Miscellaneous graphical and otherwise harmless glitches fixed.

Featured on RPGMakerWeb!

The Reconstruction has been featured on RPG Maker Web's blog! See it here:

(There is a typo in the title so hopefully it doesn't break the link if it's fixed!)

Thanks for your continued support, O Mighty Playerbase!

Version 1.06b Available

This version has minor cosmetic changes; there is no need to re-download the whole thing unless you have time to kill!

-Fixed a DLL error that could occur for new players. Note: The game.ini file determines which DLL to use; it is now switched back to version 102 because 104 caused the box glitch in the text and doesn't seem to actually affect anything otherwise. The folder includes both files, so you are free to change between 102 and 104 if you notice problems with one or the other, but it's staying as 102 by default.
-Got rid of those little boxes showing up on certain screens.
-Fixed an assortment of typos and minor cosmetic things.
-Fixed one of Zargos' support bonuses.
-Removed a potential spoiler from the achievements screen.
-A record for the quest "The Herding" should now appear on the achievements screen.
-Fixed a bug where "Ease Suffering" was being shown as a green skill. It is correctly marked as blue in battle now.

This DLL File Nonsense

If you updated to version 1.06 (released September 2011), find the Game.ini file in the reconst folder, open it up, and find the line with RGSS104E.DLL. Change the 4 to a 2 and save.

The current main download is fixed.

Get Ready for Patch Day!

The Reconstruction was featured almost two years ago today. So what better way to celebrate than by fixing things! For those stragglers who are interested, version 1.06 will go up tonight (probably around 8 EST unless something major comes up). Here is a preliminary change list:

-Wait times for each actor now appear in battle, marked with a delta symbol. Or maybe it's a metronome. Or maybe a tiny grandfather clock, I don't know.

-Fixed a bug where support allies weren't sharing in essence gained for kills.

-Rushing is fixed! Battles should no longer bug out if you counter a Rush advance (or vice versa).

-Removed that nonexistent sidequest entry in the guild records in chapter 5.

-Reduced the damage sponginess of bosses somewhat.

-Fixed the damage mod descriptions on Rehm's skills. Fiery Raid is now correctly based on Spirit versus Willpower.

-Character #16 is now a little bit faster.

-Fixed an incorrectly passable tile in chapter 1's hunting map.

-Fixed a crash when speaking to Fero in the late-game puzzle dungeon. In addition, it is hopefully less easy to get stranded on the light puzzle.

-Fixed some encounter weirdness that could occur in the quest "The Blinding".

-Cleaned up some events before the chapter 5 boss battle that should hopefully make said battle run a bit more smoothly.

-Fixed miscellaneous skill mis-namings and name inconsistencies.

-Kidra's "Rested" passive ability should properly trigger from the back row only now. Its chance of triggering an effect has been increased greatly.

-Fixed the Range description on the highest tier of Thunderous Axe.

-Passive skills now cost the same amount of skill and mana points to train up. In effect, the cost is now slightly lower all around. NOTE: Because of how progress is stored, this effect will only appear after you have trained up at least one rank under version 1.06 (or if you start a new game). So, if the training says the cost is 1800/1200 now, then training it once should make the next tier have the proper cost of 1200/1200.

Big thanks to a few of my Troper fans (you know who you are) for a bunch of bug reports and suggestions.

Version 1.05 is here!

¡Buenas noches!

I've uploaded version 1.05. Here is a brief list of everything that has changed. I'd recommend updating to this one, as it's fixed a lot of things - especially if you haven't updated since the first version. I decided not to implement the difficulty change, as it wasn't worth the amount of effort involved, and definitely has absolutely nothing to do with me playing Uncharted 2 all week.

-Fixed several issues with the quests "Cries of the Land" and "To Ascend".
-There was a bug that skewed passive skill upgrades to requiring more Skill Points than Mana Points. This will be corrected if you begin a new game (the values are now equal for each upgrade), but due to the nnature of the data involved, current saves can't be amended. Not a big deal.
-Fixed an issue where certain passive skill names weren't consistent.
-A decent number of dialog additions and typo fixes.

Shout-out to Fool at the RRR forums for extreme bug-busting prowess.

Update 1.05 on the Way!

Guten tag!

I've got an updated in version in store for later this week. It'll have a few minor issues addressed, as well as an overhaul of the difficulty settings. Right now, the difference in easy enemies versus hard enemies is prominent at the beginning, but mostly gone by the end. I'll be refining the damage formulae to make a more dramatic difference in player and enemy damage rates from start to finish.
