Suffers from very poor execution.

Allow me to start by saying that I downloaded this game on a whim... Well, that might not be entirely true. I suppose it was because this is the only one of J-man's games that didn't have a large amount of screenshots containing awful dialogue. While I can appreciate J-mans spriting abilities, but this game was just unbearable, so much so that I could barely stand any more than the intro to this game.

The first portion of the introduction is a wall of text that barely makes sense, and what follows is interesting mixture of poor pacing and shameless cliché abuse that made me firmly rest my palm on my face. Specific problems I've had with this game's introduction are too numerable to even go over on this short review.

Sorry Jman, but you may want to consider having someone help you with your writing. My advice to you would be to either team up with someone who knows what they're doing, or trade your spriting for some help on your writing. It's a real shame to see these sprites to go waste.

Ouch, maybe I should've put more testing to it, oh well. I didn't get to do much for the game due to work stuff, but I'll be hiring some testers for grammar and other things for it and hopefully it will appeal to you a little more better in the future.
I'd love to help with one of J-Man's games. I mean, I'm hardly a world class writer, but (no offense) I'm definitely better.
I thought it was actually pretty entertaining, and it kind of encouraged me to try out a "job" system instead of plain out "quests". Though one thing I did run into was after the cavern dungeon, you are sent back to town but, as is the nature of a few of J-man's games, event work is slightly off which leads to a bug in switch usage, and I was left in the doorway of the village with my heroes transparent and the followup event not running (checked the editor and there were 2 pages using the same switch, the second being blank).

I...agree with this review unfortunately. I really tried Arcanion, I really did. But the problem is with the gameplay is that it could be extremely boring and frustrating, so many backtracking and enemies in the map, I didn't even want to grind but for you to survive in the caves you have to since you're single and enemies attack at least two times before you could move. It's a frigging pain in the ass x_x
This is one of the reasons why I wish people did more collaboration work around these parts. If he just got some help and did a radical revamp, this could be something interesting.

This is so true about so many projects.

Yeah, I would definitely get behind a project like this. Especially from your side. The ratio of mappers and spriters versus writers and coders is very unbalanced, or so it seems to me.
You've definitely put a lot of love and work into this and I would love to team up and discuss future possibilities or reworks.
