A peaceful kingdom suddenly receives a powerful stone with the power to control time itself. Deciding to keep this relic out of evil hands, the king of Syrius stores it in a secluded place deep inside the castle, where it lies for the next millenium.

Fast forward a thousand years into the present time. The stone has gone missing as well as the current king! It's now up to Princess Lilliana to find the king and the stone before the stone's power gets misused and something terrible happens. She will meet seven companions on her search, a fugitive soldier on the run, a smart, dedicated priestess, a cash-loving, food-loving thief, a perky sorceress, a monster hunter that hits on any female that moves, a young magical dancer, and a strong, yet troubled martial artist. She will meet others on her journey as well, and the eight of them must find the person responsible for the theft of the stone.

This game is sort of a dungeon crawler, but it does have some features like class changing, touch encounters, different ways to learn skills, puzzles, tough optional bosses, and stuff like that. It's a long game, 3 worlds to traverse, spanning 7 chapters long, with many sidequests included. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Walkthrough Completed!

Well, after many months of putting the thing off due to work/real-life stuff/a little procrastination here and there, I can finally say that the walkthrough for SOE: Wings of Time Deluxe is done! And it's about time, too - because I know that a lot of folks have been asking me about the status of the walkthrough for some time now and have been looking for some help/advice on stuff in the game. Thanks for finally putting a fire under my rear end and getting it done, I appreciate it.

The walkthrough has been updated to the current version 2.0011, so everything in it is correct (or should be, anyway).

If you check the game page, you may notice that the optional bosses section is gone; this is because it is now part of the walkthrough. It's sitting in the Sidequests section (and the optional boss stuff has been updated, as well), so those of you needing strategies for them, you'll want to look there instead.

When unzipping the file the extraction program told me the CRC failed on the file "Hustle & Bustle.wav". I downloaded the file several times and used different extraction programs and I got the same results.
This is a pretty nifty game. I played some of its previous incarnation and overall it's pretty consistent.

Nethertheless, I have to say that what little I've played of the Deluxe edition seems to bloat the original game beyond comparison. Why, for example, have a story-based chapter system in the beginning with more dialogue when story wasn't even the strength of the previous edition? Why turn the opening city in the princess's chapter (which was perfectly fine) into a confusing castle metropolis? Why give the princess a healing spell when enemies drop potions by the dozens? Why replace the princess's sprite with the sprite of that girl from Shadows of Evil: Dreamcaller? Honestly!

On the other hand, I have actually played very little of the Deluxe Edition, so I am hoping that it gets better as it goes. To everyone else, this is still a very good game, if perhaps a little less consistent than it was before.

Also you should, you know, make a Dreamcaller: Deluxe Edition as well. That would be neat.

yamata: Ugh. Ok, I guess I'll answer your questions one by one.

1) The scenarios were implemented to give a better perspective of the opening characters at the beginning. Honestly, the game needed it. Story isn't the strength of the game, true, but in older versions in the beginning it was very weak.
2) The first town looked like crap, that's why I changed it.
3) They won't drop them "by the dozens" for long. I agree her first healing spell is rather useless, but I can't think of anything else to give her at that point. And I'm not changing it.
4) Dreamcaller? How do you know about that? I only released it on one site - did you go to that site back then? Besides, I scrapped it completely because I didn't like it. And Dreamcaller is NOT coming back in any way, shape or form. And the old sprite didn't fit, so I replaced it.

You know, I remembering hearing alot about this game on "best rm games" (at least I believe that's where I heard it), and then trying to look for it everywhere. Never did have any luck, so I was quite relieved when I saw this posted. I'll let you know what I think once I've gotten a chance to play it.
Also, the same thing happened to me that happened to physal, but I can still play the game (so far, at least).
Yeah I'm able to play the game too. Its just that one file that is corrupt.
Seems odd that it does that, though. Hmm...

found a bug, i reached timberwood village and next I think i'm supposed to go through the mountain pass to get to navarre but the princess keeps saying they have no reason to go there even though they said we had to go there next.
nevermind turned out i had to stay at the inn first. another thing i should point out to everyone who plays this game in case you didn't read the read me file, if you are playing the game and the music suddenly stops quit the game and go back to your last save. whatever you do DO NOT SAVE YOUR GAME! i cannot stress this enough, if you do the game will crash and your save file will be deleted! trust me i found this out the hard way thankfully i was early in the game when this happened. otherwise this is a pretty good game so far, plan to finish this.
Yeah, I still don't know why it's causing that. And it's really getting on my nerves. x.x
where do you meet melanie the second time, i've got to agradia but she says i need 2 poleskills before she'll teach me another i have one which I learnt at timberwood village but i just can't seem to find her again to teach me the other skill.
It's at Syrius Castle; she'll teach you Twin Spiraller.
what? i searched that castle from top to bottom, she was no where to be found.
I found a bug, at the isolated station in the future where i fight those 2 thieves after taking down the robot leader the game crashes, saying the script referenced an item that dosen't exist.
nevermind did it a second time and the bug didn't happen.

Great game. Musics are awesome too. I would say it's one of the top-class rm2k3 projects.

I'm now in tomb of fallen gypsy in ch2 and so far have found 2 "good bugs" which are very useful for the player.
1. When it's Kerrie's turn, first press "Attack", and then press "ESC" to cancel it and switch to "Prayer" command, the whole party will be healed and Kerrie will attack as well. This trick is helpful but not always works though.
2. Communicator can help recover all HP and AP for all members.

The music-stop-and-then-F12-to-start-over issue is indeed annoying because we players can't save whenever we wants. The last savefile could be very long before the current process if the player always fights all monsters along the way in the dungeons. If save function is usable anywhere at any time, this problem will surely be neutralized.
1. That is a bug within RM2k3 itself, not the game. Everybody knows about that by now. I can't do anything about that.

2. This was intended. It's good if you're nowhere near a save golem (or a golden save golem) and are having trouble with the local enemies or something. So it's not a bug.

I could make it so that you can save anywhere, but that will cause even more problems, especially on maps with monsters on them. Say someone is out of AP for healing and out of revival items and he/she saves on a map with a monster right in their faces (worse if you can't escape from it or go back to get supplies), then they would be stuck.
