A desperate goddess attempts to change the outcome of her future by erasing a key moment in her life. Overestimating her own powers, this spell causes a dimensional "rip," shattering the walls separating individual realities and the world of the living from the world of the dead...forming a place far worse than one she could ever imagine...

Among those affected is former college student Buffy Summers. A fierce warrior and protector in her original world, she has lost all memory of who she is and what her life was like before the incident. Teaming up with Dean Winchester, Buffy is determined to escape this nightmarish world and return home...however, a dangerous force from hell has escaped due to this incident, and he will do everything in his power to stop them and claim this growing world as his personal playground.

Features:
- A cast of twelve playable characters, that can be swapped in and out of battle at will
- A "sandbox" gameplay -- in which you choose the order (or how much) of the story you wish to see, as well as who to recruit
- Semi-customize your characters by designating them to the weapon (or weapons) of your choice. Some characters can have up to 30-40 skills bare minimum, while others can have close to a hundred
- A fast-paced dark yet comedic storyline
- Multiple endings

Sunnydale is in a sunny place

I can almost guarantee that the game will be out this year (!). I was aiming for a Summer release, but, um, I don't see that happening. But an Autumn release could be possible, if I keep chipping away at it.

Initially, I had meant for this game to be completed in 2010, the year it was started, but so many things "got in the way", so to speak. A lot has changed with me, and I have had to prioritize other things. I didn't think I would ever get into RPGM again, but I guess I just felt the need to indulge in some healthy brain candy.I am determined to get this out and Gatekeeper as well, which I'm really proud of, so far.

So here's the deal. For the last...two months, I think? whenever things have been slow at work, I have been writing out scenes for Sunnydale (and Gatekeeper, too) and when I get home, I'd do a little bit of dungeon-building here, and a little bit there, and it's all starting to add up. In terms of where the storyline is, I'm basically at the endgame. After I'm done with the current dungeon, I'll be pretty much done with the "main path", sans the last dungeon. All I would have left to do would be to write out scenes for a few of the side paths, which shouldn't be difficult.

As far as the dungeon construction goes, that is just about finished. All I have to do is finish Billy Loomis's dungeon, and the final one. That's it.

I haven't updated the demon library yet, but that's the easiest part for me, so it's no big.

All in all, the end is definitely near. I'm pretty pumped about possibly having another finished game out there. No more demos for me. I contemplated submitting one for Gatekeeper during the Release Something weekend, but nope! That's what got me in trouble in the first place.

PS: Hints (minor spoilers!)

Is it bad that I didn't know who the final boss of this game was going to be until three weeks ago? lol I had it in my mind that it was going a certain iconic villain whose first name rhymes with rector... but I've replaced him with another iconic horror movie superstar. This person's story is tragic, and I know just how to incorporate it into the game.

ahahahaha what is this *actually subs out of interest*
It's amazing the shit that pops up in your head when you're in the shower.

I've been dying to do this in forever.
This game looks awesome! *subscribed* XD
Okay, I watched all of those videos and I have to say - this looks like it plays really well! I'm glad to see you playing with skills other than "damage " and "heal ".

EDIT: I dig a lot of the music choices, at that.

"Dig?" You spent Sunday obsessing over the boss theme.

ANYA is my favorite Buffy character. I just looked at the characters page, saw her, and I was very happy.

Is her demon persona based on her as a demon in her prime, or her when her physical form died?
Demon in her prime. She's going to snarky, sarcastic, honest and (oddly) wise like she was on the show, but I'm not going to overdo like some fan-writers do.

And CP, I'm happy to hear that! This is my first VX project and I'm basically like completely overwhelmed with just how much stuff I can do, so I'm trying to challenge myself a bit.

About the music, I tried to find pieces that were rare, even for me. I've been using SMT mp3s for MMZ and Vanity, so I wanted to search for other soundtracks, preferably from horror games. The soundtrack ranges from atmospheric and creepy, to loud thumbing gothic techno. It sounds like an odd mix but it totally works.

*snarky, sarcastic, honest, oddly wise and a bunny-loving communist

Just wanted to make that clear.
This...looks incredible. Almost just what I've been looking for, even.

Can I ask where the music came from, if it isn't original? I really like it. >.>
The majority of the music comes from:

Silent Hill 1 & 2
Obscure 1 & 2
System Shock 2
Killer 7
Max McGee
My name is Legion: for we are many.

Would you mind telling me where you got your monster graphics from?

Also, how do you feel about releasing this game open source?
The monster graphics I found from some japanese website I cannot name

As for releasing this game open source.........................well, just about everything I used a lot of the resources I found I spent quite a bit of time editing, so I would get pissy if I fould graphics that I obviously had to edit in other people's games without credit lol

why would you even ask such a thing???? =P

is it too late for ironhide facepalm

the fact that Ash Williams is in this game makes me love it all the more (:
I almost lost this sucker... =(
Say, um, how far along are you in this project? Could there...maybe...be a demo release sometime soon?
It's canceled.

Just kidding. I've been going back and forth between whether I want to release a demo or not... I mean, I would prefer to just release the whole thing together, since I don't want it to be very long, but we'll see......

There hasn't been a whooooooole lot of process made in the past few weeks, because I've been working on so many other things, but I definitely didn't haven't forgotten about it (it's always open on my taskbar) and I'll probably start the next dungeon by the end of next week.

I uploaded a new to satisfy your appetite (for now)!
You know, if I hadn't checked my other notice first, I would've thought you were serious.

EDIT: Oh, and two things.
1. There's a typo in your new video. Buffy says "There's isn't a keyhole." I'm a little nit-picky about that.
2. Will this require any of the VX RTPs? Because if so, that dilutes my enjoyment for now. I can't access the main website (rpgmakerweb.com) to get the RTP stuff.
Well, I saved the RTP into the game's folder, so I'm trying to figure out what else I have to do to make it stand-alone, but that is my goal

Thanks for giving me a heads up on the typo
I just realized something: How did you record your videos? I really want to know.
