-Story-
A long time ago, when the word was still young, the lad was seperated into seven kingdoms. The Elders of Star Haven foresaw conflict between the kingdoms as the greediness of the people became aparent. These elders requested a meeting with the original rulers of each of the kingdoms. They became Sages, guardians of their respective lands, and were sent back to the world as representatives from Star Haven.

Now, the Sages are long gone but their spirits live on in Seven Monuments. Legend has it that the key to peace with the kingdoms lies in the power of the Sages.

Many have learned of the power that could be obtained by taking control of these objects, and therefore taking control of the Sages. Two unknown villains have been reported sneaking around recently...

-Features-
-Badge System
-Random battle power-ups a la SMRPG
-Power Suit System (Class changing) with 9 different suits, each with each own special abilities
-Sage Power moves
-Hammer, Jumping, and many other field skills from the Mario series
-Funny dialogue in the ballpark of the M&L and Paper Mario series
-A mash up of all the Mario RPG's, in a sense
-Bowser as a playable character

Play To The Ground: Video Series Preview

I'm mulling over an idea to (finally) create an ICU Gigasoft play through of our games. However, it'll have a twist. On the left side of the video will be footage of me (or cdivision) playing through one of our games. On the right, however, commentary from us will pop up from time to time. They will be about what's happening in the game, how we made stuff, why we did what we did, or other fun facts about the games development.

The first game on the list will be "Seven Sages," although I'm open to doing others (including unfinished projects) during the run through.

Here's a preview of how it will look. Comments, feedback, and questions would be nice before I decide to continue or not.

Cool. Have you also tried out our new game, SMRPG: Starlite Worlds?
where do you find the red coop seaweed thing to get to the moon? I'm in the seaweed kingdom, and searched everywhere for it.

In the Seaweed Wetlands in the 3rd Area (Going from the entrance). When it said it was in the Seaweed Kingdom, it meant the entire land.
After activating the gloomba switch at the end of that one forest, it showed a ladder extending in some other section of what I assume is the same zone. I've searched all over the place trying to find this ladder, only to come up short. Seeing as how you created this game, can you help me out?

EDIT: Nevermind. Just found out that you can walk left of the screen with the ladder leading to the hidden block.
Glad you were able to figure it out.
I am having some difficulties with some of the boss battles.

1) the "hard" version of the beat all the bosses. The blue nega orb is simply impossible. I'm at level 144. (99 regular levels and 45 of the advanced)

2) the 100th level in the international sewer.

3) the boss in the area with all the yoshi's behind the magically locked door.

Any suggestions on how to beat them would be greatly appreciated.

Also, once when i was going up the 100 levels in the international sewer, I got the "3 mini-mashers" and can't get them again (they were pretty neat 3 attacks a turn)
There are videos by various people playing and beating all of the bosses you've mentioned, so taking a look would be a good way to start. Also, using skills that buff your party's stats are essential. Granted, depending on the version of the game your playing (which is probabloy 1.6.1) some boosts don't work as well as in the older game and some work better. You may want to beat the 100th level sewer boss first, because what you get from him can be very helpful.
ok. thanks! Google mario rpg seven sages and look in youtube?
Is there any way to skip Track Tactics; because I've given it a fair amount of tries but end up failing on the second screen. I've got patience, but this is starting to stretch me a little thin. I love the game so I don't want to give up, it's just that I can't see myself being able to beat this mini-game.

EDIT: There I go throwing up my hands in defeat a few minutes before I should again. I gave it two more tries and was able to complete it after taking a gander at the TT introduction video on Youtube. Now I can continue enjoying my quest.
Alright!
However, I've noticed that some people get hung up on these mini-games, and others seem to breeze by them. I don't really know how to reconcile that other than making all of the mini-games optional... I don't think I want to do that though.
What level would you suggest my party be for the final battle against the Dark Star? My equip/levels are:

Mario:
Level 53
Ultra Hammer
Tanuki Suit
Shroom Shirt
Loose Pants
Perky Pin

Luigi:
Level 54
Ultra Hammer
Mr L. Suit
Shroom Shirt
Loose Pants
Perky Pin

Bowser:
Level 57
Hurlie Glove
Prada
Spiked Shell
Invisible Pants
Kammy's Pin

If my gear is far weaker than some easily-obtainable, better equipment, could you point me in the direction for some?
You're either right on the money, or a little underleveled for the final boss.

As for gear, you may want to replace those Shroom Shirts with Magical Shirts. You can get 1 from the second Surfing mini-game, and get as many as you want from fighting Golden Bloopers. Golden Bloopers can be found in a secret area in the Deep Sea Trenches, or you can fight them in the Monster Arena, Floor 26.

Some monsters also drop pins better than the Perky Pins.
Just finished the game. After defeating the blue nega orb (which i know was entirely optional), all the other boss battles were a cinch. Good game, but VERY difficult with some of the challenges. I had to put aside the game for a few weeks, and try again with fresh eyes. Will try starlight world next.
Fucking damnit! Got all the way up to Gloomtail/Hooktail in the Pit of 100 Trials and got killed, taking away roughly 10 levels that I had earned throughout the place. Nothing sucks more than wasting what felt like an hour for nothing.

EDIT: As of 7:12 PM of 5/12/2011, I've finally beaten the game. Levels after the exp of the final battle were around 76 for Mario, 77 for Luigi and 80 for Bowser. Overall, if I were to review this, I'd give it a 4 star. Through thick and thin, definitely a highly enjoyable game that is both well worth playing and a well-put-together fangame full of charm and flavor.

Glad you stuck with it to the end. Starlite Worlds will be fun for you, it's about a 5 hour demo.

That's the Pit for you. You can leave any time you want, so keep that in mind if you just want to level up.
Corfaisus,
There's also a better weapon for Bowser. If you enter the International Sewer from the Bean Kingdom you can find it.
