Summary of the Game...
"Project Viral is a survival horror game that has been developed using Rpg Maker XP. Originally this game was planned to be called "School of the Dead" but with a lot of changes to the plot, it was renamed. The game originally focused mainly on scare factors to terrify the player but with the changes in hand there were more features added such as the use of a unique battlesystem which meant more gameplay action was provided. The player has a more diverse control when encountering enemies such as the common zombie. With all this, the game now fails to stay as one genre and could even be classified as a hybrid. The setting of the game is in a military school where a virus has spread through out the entire area turning most of the people there who don't have a strong immune system into flesh eating zombie like cannables. The player is a male high school student who has to survive the horrors ahead of them whilst uncovering the secrets behind the scenes.

Just to let you know if you haven't already downloaded the game. I'm updating the game to version 1.5.
This will make the intro more clearer adding more cutscenes at the opening sequence. Also the ending was an incomplete resolution to the story which will also be worked on. There will also be a tutorial in the game. Light effects of the maps will be revamped for this update. There will be either a difficulty setting or a hints and tips setting for the game. I need to fix the location of the sledgehammer. Add a few new graphic files and extra event occurances during the game.
The next version will probably be the last. I did plan to make 3 disks for this game playing from the point of view of the 3 main characters but I changed my mind after receiving to many harsh critisms. If anyone has anything that they feel needs adding to the game then I will take into consideration their thoughts for the final update of the game.

is it possible to shoot in this game? i can only use melee weapons. nice game btw cant wait for the second one

Actually I was referring to the 3 playable discs from different characters point of views. Unfortunately I'd rather make a sequel because I felt this game could have been better implemented and was slightly rushed. Yes you can use guns in the game by the way. There is the pistol, shotgun is hardest weapon to find in game, the maverick you get later in the game and the Bazooka are all ranged weapons. I think I'll update the project page then to make that more clear. Also, if you don't think guns are usable in the game then check out the game play video and you'll see the maverick in use...

Subscribe if you want. I'll even message you when it's done. Basically I've nearly finished, just got to add a little bit more to it. Not sure about what I'm gonna do about the ending sequence, there's a few things that need sorting out before release. Before release I'm also going to have to play test it on easy and hard mode so I can get rid of bugs if they are found. But expect a download soon, I'm nearly done clearing out useless events and re lighting maps.

yea i got impatient and decided to try out this version. i like it dude, just the only gripe i have is the lighting But other then that i like the game, good job.

Thanks jc984 I appreciate it. This is my first completed game. It was a little bit rushed towards the end but I'm proud that I finished a full game for once. The updated version will be better in terms of revised issues with the game and the extra features and things chucked into the game.

my comment on this game :
your game is really good and remind me on playing resident evil but..
1. It has many missing files (I don't know if that's only my computer's error or the installer was weird)
2. The key was too hard to find and I stuck very often
3. Character has only 100 hp and every attacked deals 18-30 damage (it's too hard)

It's should have been updated ages ago but I haven't finished Alpha testing yet for bugs. I am doing some work on The Magnus Light but now I have completed the demo for it I may finish updating this game sometime in near future. Take a look at Project Viral 2: Outbreak Demo. That's another project I'm working on that has the same vibe as this one if you want. Lastly, thanks for taking an interest in the game.

Graphic is great and gameplay is fun. I am currently halfway through the game. It reminds me of Resident Evil. :)

Press ESC and assembly them to the number keys. Then use the number keys to attach item stocks to them like ammo or first aid kits. I'll personal message you how to escape the sewers soon...

1. After Professor Zen does what he does in the lab, and you escape via the sewers, in what order do you pull the levers?
2. Also, is it really possible to use guns? Because even though I have several guns and ammo, I still can't attack using guns.
