cic·a·trix/ˈsikəˌtriks/
Noun:
The scar of a healed wound.

In a world where a rare gene allows gifted individuals to manipulate the elements, one man seeks revenge for his upbringing and begins a journey of self destruction and revelation in order to find himself.

The Cicatrix stars Ephren, a young man scarred by his past and seeking a brighter future.

Introduction:
Firstly, welcome to my game profile!

The Cicatrix (formerly Hero I) is an amateur RPG currently being developed by Stedar with Enterbrain's Rpg maker 2003 (and with a little help from Cherry and his patches).

I don't think this game will "break the mold" just yet. But I hope that it will in the future (when it is completed). I have been working on this on and off over the course of many years and it (so far) has only had a few beta releases.

If you want to learn more about its history, please check out the Devlog here: (NOT updated recently)

Anticipated release date: 5/31/2011
-Released. There will be a new (and possibly FULL) beta release soon.

Name change and game profile enhancements!

So I finally broke down and decided to re-name this bad boy. It's gonna be hard throwing away the old name in favor of this new one, but time is all it will take. It's hard though--how could just a single word or even just a single name describe a game? A story? A universe!?

Cicatrix was the obvious choice, honestly the final contestants were Sillion, The Scar, or Cicatrix, and although Cicatrix sounds too "Matrix-y" it was the right one to go with. Ephren's life has been scarred, and the road ahead is the healing flesh. Perfect.

I played around with the CSS, (which I am a total noob at) but hopefully it will be pretty before long. Thanks for sticking with me!

keep at it. :)
I remember seeing this before on your blog site. Definitely looks interesting and you have some nice mapping skills. May want to post some battle shots though.

Anyway, I will definitely give this a download when it's up.

Yes, I remember seeing you over at the SU forums. I will also certainly put up a few battle shots (good idea!).

Thank you :]
Lol, I remember trying to google this game recently because I wanted to look at the screenshots. Now they're much easier to get to. Yaay! :DD
Lots of style here, looking forward to a beta.

damn son loooks brilliant!

Thanks! It's had a really unfortunately long development cycle for such a short little 2-3 hour demo, but hopefully it will be enjoyable.
Whoa, didn't notice the beta came out. I thought I'd give it a shot, but the game just up and closes on me after selecting whether or not to view the intro. (That is, both choices kill the game, but saying no gives a "two days earlier..." before closing.)
That's odd.. I haven't had anyone say that before. Can you play other rm2k3 games alright?
Yeah, never seen anything like this before.

Did you by any chance try re-downloading it? Other than that I can't think of what would be the problem.

Is there even an error message at all?
I was thinking about doing a review but I got tangled up in spriting again, but I will say this one of the most promising games out there. I have a grudge with a some of the corny dialog, but you have a real masterpiece in the works man. Keep working, I'll try to advertise this game a little because it deserves it. Lastly Im guessing is DHM is helping you out you got a good mentor so keep at it, wanna see this game done.
Yeah, a lot of the dialog needs revamping. I'm working on it. I suppose you could say that DHM is like a mentor--I have gotten a lot of inspiration from him!

Thank you for the support!
"Ephren"......why does that sound so familiar?

Dunno. As far as I know it hasn't been used in any popular videogames. I chose it for that very reason. I sure hope no one else has used it D:
This is interesting, man. Well done.
