The year is 2011, and a terrible infection has spread across the United States.

The infection was airbourne as well as highly contagious. Symptoms were similar to the flu, including high fevers, vomiting, coughing, as well as a general weakening of the immune system. Due to this epidemic, the US began to collapse. Hospitals were overrun with infected patients, plants and livestock began to perish, which led to the economy's failure. All of the military bases were facing difficulties trying to quarantine the disease, even failing to stop the infection from spreading within their own ranks. There seemed to be no answer, and no cure...

But the worst was yet to come.

It was roughly a week before those who were unfortunate enough to become infected began to show enormous amounts of hostility to family, freinds, and strangers alike. This single infection brought down the entire USA from the inside, as its own citizens were murdering each other out of an unexplained rage.

It's been four weeks since the infection began. Those who were neither killed nor infected have held out and survived in shelters in cities, towns, and rural areas using any means necessary.

Now, follow the story of two survivors as they attempt to survive Hell on Earth.

Infection Download UPDATE! (Chapter 2 DEMO INCLUDED!)

Hello my fellow zombie and horror lovers! I'm pleased to announce with the current update to the Infection download(with many fixes and added surprises to Chapter One) I'll be including a short version of Chapter Two for those interested in seeing the newest content as well as those new to the game, having the option of continuing onward in the game.
The new content isn't long, but I decided to add it in with the update and it has a stopping point that'll return you to the title screen like Chapter One did.

I haven't made it compatible with older save files, but I do plan too when it's half-way finished of finished. I'm only including it because of the update to Chapter One, and I thought why not?

So, for those that have already played and beaten Chapter One, feel free to wait for a separate download file and possibly the completed version. But for those that don't mind going through Chapter One again, it does have many fixes, updates and even some added content, such as items and a few new(small) areas.

I'll be uploading the download shortly, and it will only be a matter of time before it's open to download.
As always I try to ensure that I got the big bugs and make the game RTP-independent. But for those that find anything, please contact me via message or on the gamepage.

I haven't had much time to work on Infection, with the new job and everything as I would have liked to, but I'm proud that it's still going strong and in the works.
I appreciate all your support and love all my fans and those who give this game the time of day.

We've hit the 1000+ download mark recently and that overwhelms me with joy and I hope to see it grow further in the future!

Best of luck to you all, my fellow survivalists! :)

For some reason, I can't move 'South' from the first city block.

It keeps suggesting I search the Storage Depot first - which I have done. All the shutters are open and all rooms have been searched! Searching again just comes up with a dialogue saying they're empty.

HELP!

Oh, sorry guys, the download that is up was just a very small teaser I did for Halloween, I'll put up a new download soon though with more content and exploration.
@Animetor- Thanks for the support, and hopefully I won't disappoint! :)
You haven't dissapointed, the battles were so realistic, at first I was panicked but then I learned to plan ahead, and when the woman (can't remember her name) learned the treat wounds I was so relieved 'cause I had ran out of healing items
Thanks Animetor, I'm glad you like the battles, that's what I've been trying the hardest on to make entertaining. The previous Infection had battles which got boring or repetitive, so that's good to hear. :)
Ah, that explains it IF! Love the game so far, keep up the good work!

On a quick side note, have you considered expanding the number of survivors and perhaps adding a customisable (and gradually growing) safehouse that the player can find mods for (water filters, security, food sources etc?) and grows as the player finds new survivors?

I'm thinking Suikoden does zombies! ;)
Thank you Kaje! :)
You will get more survivors in the storyline, up to 4 at a time, so no worries there. As for safehouse mods and expansion I have been planning an option to stay in each house/building and use it as a safehouse. You would set how many hours you want to stay (1 hour= 1 minute, etc etc) the longer you stay the more healing you get but also raises the chances of infected attacking.
You would also be able to make weapons, find and prepare food as well.
This is all in the works, so hopefully I can pull something off that's similar!
"Suikoden does zombies" sounds like a brilliant idea for a zombie game. However, I don't think this particular game should go in that direction. You might want to try looking into a game called Dead State, which is NOT an RPGM game, but it still might be something worth your while, Kaje.

IF: I definitely like what you're doing. Every reinventing of the game has been a step forward, an improvement over the last download. Keep up the good work! I'm definitely looking forward to this becoming a finished product.

Thanks Grimdark, that is very nice to hear. :)
I'm glad you and the others who have given their opinion are liking the improvements. I do intend on completing this game, I just want the best experience possible from the beginning to the end that I can be proud of.

I really appreciate the support!
UPDATED DEMO is on the way!
It is the Halloween teaser with a little more meat on the bones, it has a smooth stopping point so there isn't any confusion, and most importantly everything has been revamped in some little way or another since Halloween!

So, just to have a better demonstration of the game, please enjoy!
I like the changes in characters and skills. It is pretty intense at first because you don't have much healing items and there are tons of undeads, but it gets much easier once Michelle learns Tend Wounds.
I would have liked access to a savepoint though. And maybe I didn't look everywhere but I can't find a way to light up the subway tunnels. And there's that shiny thing in the upper corner of the southern map I can't reach.
I'm loving the look of this game!

Thanks X-Tech, the more people say "I will play this" the faster and harder I will work at its completion! :D

Awesome cakes! I LOVE zombie games.
I will play this.

It does get easier when they start to level, get new skills, etc. but it will start getting harder with more powerful infected and more numbers in battle.
I JUST added saving everywhere ingame, so I hope this helps. I know it's annoying not being able to save and I've been forgetting to get around to it, but now it's there and will be in the next update!
You have to find a generator to power the controls, again in the next update I'll add soon it will be able to go all the way through that area. But I'm pretty sure you can turn on the lights with one of two generators in the city.
As for that sparkle you can't get to...it's going to be a secret area where you get an item, just haven't set it fully in motion yet. :D

And all of you are helping! Working on it as we speak, getting story progression done as well as new exploration.
I appreciate all the support!
Badass game, I played up to the bit where they find the dog then I died... because Michelle was already wounded and that was because I got a bit cocky and took on every zombie I saw on site :P

Huge improvement though I like it.
@supreme- Thanks man, it's a HUGE improvement(imo) over the first version, as you can see from Creation's Pass or Fail.

And hey, can't get cocky with zombies, they don't take it kindly. :P
IF! Merry Christmas! :)
