The story so far...

Act 1: The Gathering

Fifty years after the defeat of the tyrant god, Set, the world of Rie rests in a state of idle peace. However, things are not as peaceful as they seem. A man who calls himself the Master of Souls has made a bargain with a demon lord Eivion - one thousand human souls in exchange for demonic immortality and overwhelming power. This prophecy has set itself in motion, ticking down soul by soul. Now the end is near. And where are the only six people in the world who have the capability to stop the Master of Souls before the world is lost forever? They are each being slowly lured to the CIty of Tar' Jahri, where they will be gathered together unaware of their fates.

Join Aeon and his allies and enemies as they head toward Tar' Jahri, with one question tugging on the back of their minds

Who or what is the Master of Souls?

Act 2: The Suffering

The Master of Souls has begun to capture the world of Rie. Slowly, but surely, the great nations of the world have fallen to him: The frozen kingdom of Ineldal; the Faerie Land of Lenria, the desert city of Septia, and the jungles of Tar' Jahri have all been destroyed, now all that stands in his path to destroy the Gods themselves is the capital city of Pendonia. And where are the heroes who are destined to stop him? They are desperately searching for an escape from the underworld.

Help Aeon and his band of adventurers escape from the underworld, even when faced with terrible perils such as a plague of Basalisks, a cursed orb of power, and an ancient sorcerer, bent on destroying mortals.

Act III - Release & Testers

It's been a long haul full of a few hiatuses and near computer-crashing disasters, but the third and final act of Master of Souls is complete and ready for testing! I'm gonna put a brief history of what this project started as and what it became for those of you who care :) But everyone else feel free to skip to the bottom for details on the actual release date and testing.

Two years ago I started a project to improve my over all game design abilities, especially mapping. It was going to be a 15 minute project about two brothers going to a family reunion at a church, maybe there was even going to be a boss fight. It grew into so much more. Slowly, as I began developing the game grew a plot demanding of additional characters, and I expanded the game to 4 chapters. Soon enough, that became three enormous acts detailing the somewhat tragic journey of a boy trying to save the world and his brother, all the while following the general arc and storyline of World War II. As usual, I never thought I'd get anywhere in the project, but I quickly finished the first and second acts. And now, after a long hiatus that lasted almost a year, the completion to the story is ready.

What are some new things coming in Act III?

There aren't any huge changes (The game needs to operate using the original scripts in acts I and II, so you won't see many changes there). There are a few major changes though including:

-Traditional open-world style RPG gaming. Yes, for the first time in Master of Souls you can essentially travel the world to go whereever you want whenever! Of course, the storyline still applies and you need to follow it for the most part, but you can travel to almost any location in Rie at any time that you want to.

-Instead of a constantly changing party, Act III introduces five new characters to the cast, rounding out a normal RPG party. Each of these characters is unique in their personality and skillset, making all of them useful in battle. Feel free to experiment with whatever group of characters you like!

-Act III introduces a new minigame that pops up a few times. As the game takes place in a world torn to pieces by a nearly unwinnable war, you take control of the "Dragon Bombers" to free cities under the demons' control! You can seige cities to destroy Defense, Attack, or Health (Supplies) while still making sure the civilian population doesn't drop too low.

- The full game, all three Acts, features about 50 quests. Some of these are main quests, others are side quests for your enjoyment (And rewards). The average playthrough of the main quest and all side quests is about 25 hours of gameplay!

We're aiming to release the full game between early and mid October. In order for this to happen however, I'm going to need a few brave souls willing to test the game. If you're interested, post here saying so or PM me and I'll send you the link in addition to certain areas with huge bug potential :)
As always, thank you all for your support and patience through this extremely long endeavor, and hopefully you'll be pleased with the final result!

I understand that the chief goes into the dungeon, though that sequence isn't what I thought would happen (more on that later). As of this moment, he's in the kitchen. All he does is stand there in front of the chemistry set food preparation table, continuously saying that he could use an onion. How you get him into the dungeon in the first place is where I'm being stuck at. I probably should have clarified earlier.

Side note: I think I might have tried to "push" him (holding the right arrow button) on one attempt, but that idea was a no-go.

About the sequence I was expecting to see:
When you said that the chief would go into the dungeon to fetch the onion himself, I figured there'd be a scene (after examining the onion, of course) where Daniel says to the chief, "My good fellow, there is an onion in the far reaches accessed by yonder doorway!" Or something to this effect.
At which point, there'd be a {!} over the chief, and he'd literally run out to get it. Allowing the player to find... whatever he or she is supposed to find by getting rid of the chief at that point. However, trapping the chief in the dungeon sounds deviously fun, now that you mention it!
Alright, sorry it's fine, I just read your original post wrong. Try talking to the chef, going into the dungeon to select the onion, then talking to the chef again and going through the sequence with the door and trapping.

When I said that he continuously said that he could use an onion, I meant that there was no situation that I could find where he didn't say that he needed an onion. No amount of talk to chief/inspect onion/re-talk to chief has changed this.

Wait, "select" the onion? It's in my inventory? No, it isn't. Do I get one from inspecting the onion? No, I don't.

Confusion +7.
Aha! I think I found the problem (Sorry for confusing you about the "select" I meant inspect the onion) This is a design fail on my part, and I really should have made this easier, so blame me for it all :). You have to find the exit that the chef is hiding (Behind the cabinet) and inspect that before you talk to the chef and inspect the onion and talk to the chef and trap him. Sorry for my issue hope that helps.
I have downloaded Master of Souls Act II - The Struggling, but when I unpack it and wanted start to play it says you're playing Master of Souls Act I - The Gathering.
Hmmm, what do you mean? Where does it say that, it shouldn't say what act it is anywhere but the title screen (At least I don't thinkit ever says it anywhere else) and the title screen should say Master of Souls - The Struggling.

Maybe Fanatik clicked on the "Download" button, which appears to be pointing to the Act I patch? If this is the case, a friendly redirection to the the downloads page is in order.
Thank you for clearing that up Marrend :) I probably should get that fixed.
Act I
I was roaming around for hours, but I think I'm stuck.
1st, I can't find an item to decode this spell book in Elden forest.

2nd Also, just curious, which level I should be to be able defeat Strigoi?
And last finally defeat guards without any problems, but again I'm stuck, I can't go through Damian Cave, can't find any way to disable this trap.

Please help me ;)
I'm sorry you got stuck :) Hopefully you've enjoyed the game up to this point.
As for the issues...

#1

In order to decode the spellbook (The page is written in latin) You will need the first two Keys from Damien and Ealliot. If you take them back there, you will decode the spellbook into English and be able to uncover where Neko is hidden.

#2

The Strigoi vampire is actually just a teaser for the future. You cannot defeat him now, but in a later Act in the game you will return and have a side quest involving defeating him and others.

#3

As for this issue, it is a puzzle. Very soon you will learn that Damien LOVES puzzles, his entire tower is filled with them. In order to disable the trap, you must take a number from each side of each statue (There are four in total), add them together, and insert it into the pole. It is a little tricky, but I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out. If not I'll be more than happy to help you even more.

Sorry for hiding all the answers, I didn't want to spoil things for people who hadn't yet played this far into the game. :)
I hope this helps!
Everguard

Thank you very much for help ;)

Your welcome, any time :) I'm glad you're enjoying the game!

Everguard

Thank u for the awesome game, can't wait to play Act III

I'm so glad you enjoyed it fanatik! Domrob and I worked really hard on those first two acts (Yeah the Wydae glitch needs some work) :) Act III has come to a slow start due to some real life stuff, but I just started to pick up the pace at the beginning of this week. We hope it will be finished by around October, but no promises yet :)
I'm in stuck in Wydae.... I have the letter from the Mayor to go to the east... but I can't seem to find the way to the east.
Go back through the Haunted Caverns to the original caves (With the scarecrows and the Chupecabras) Then go north from there until you find a skeleton.
