PS. Cool bgs, Hanzo, but I wish you did something about the arrangement of the hero and enemy parties instead. =/

Cool battle screen! The graphics are awesome. The sprites look neat, but a little small - it gets lost in the background. XD
Move the enemy sprites and party sprites closer to the middle of the screen (slightly) and this will be much easier to focus on. Looks great otherwise.
Also, the party sprites have shadows but the enemy sprites do not. Adding shadows to the enemy sprites would really help the visuals. Right now it just kind of looks like the enemies are an overlay while the party sprites have an actual depth, you know?

Yeah I'll definitely move them closer together in the center, and add shadows.
If you're talking about the bg, I found it here: http://shass.sakura.ne.jp/&usg=ALkJrhikZkUsyRN3GeTK8npF-P9-TiLqqg which is not available anymore. If you're talking about the monster sprite. It will be replaced. you can sleep ;)
