So for some reason the system restore didn't work for this particular game folder the first time I did it. I just tried it again and well... somehow it did?

I'm very happy about this, but does anyone know how I can change my permissions again WITHOUT having Windows 7 delete overwrite anything?

It seems the only way to see the updated folder on my computer is to make a game disc... I'm actually looking in the main rm2k3 projects folder right now and it is showing the version from like 3 months ago, but with the maker open I have the new and complete demo... wtf.

If anyone can help me to understand this I would be in your debt.
