Story
"The world is a big place. Sometimes hope is the only thing that keeps you going. Don't let the world take it from you."

For thousands of years, the continent of Terrosia has lain shrouded in magical mists. These mists, brought to Terrosia from across the sea by a mysterious race called the Syl, radiate from the four Mist Towers that surround it. Protected by impenetrable magics beyond human understanding, the Mist Towers have stood throughout the ages, preventing entrance or exit from the continent.Thousands of years later, the Syl have long since died out, leaving behind only ruins, mysteries and the gift of Magic that they granted to humanity. Where did the Syl come from? Why did they die out? And why did they cut Terrosia off from the rest of the world? These are the questions that drive the White Tower to explore the many ruins of Terrosia, hoping to one day bring an end to the infinite mists...

A treasure hunt gone horribly wrong begins an adventure the likes of which the world has never seen.

Features
This game is styled after and meant to appeal to fans of SNES classics, such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger. 10-12 hours of main storyline are planned, in addition to a World Map full of hidden areas to discover, dozens of sidequests, a monster hunt system, entire optional mini-dungeons and several hidden bosses.

Character advancement is inspired by the system used in Final Fantasy IX. Certain equipment carries skills that a player can use by equipping, both combat abilities and equippable traits that provide passive benefits. After earning enough experience while wearing this equipment, the player will permanently learn its abilities and will no longer need to wear the equipment to use the skills. Party members will be fully customizable to the player's liking.

The game will not feature any music or graphics from commercial games, instead using a heavily modified RTP, Kaduki battle sprites, original compositions and music used with permission from various indie musicians.

Update: Character Bios

Hello again. I've updated the character tab with complete information on playable characters. Give it a look if you want.

Another thing, after looking through various feedback it seems like a lot of people seem to have the biggest problems with the mapping and the blockiness of things. As long as I work in RMVX it seems like this is unavoidable. I've considered remaking things with XP before this project gets too far along, but before I decide thought I'd see if it was worth it. Is the blockiness such a detriment to the game that a conversion to XP style graphics is necessary? What do you think?

It's funny that you compare a lot to Final Fantasy 9, because I found the mist storyline similar to the FF9 world.

I love FF9 though, probably my favorite, so the systems sound neat.
Overall, seems like a well thought out project, although I'm not fond of the mapping, sorry. :\
This is the second project I've ever seen that uses the KGC augment system. The first was mine. It isn't a very common system, so if you've balanced it correctly, kudos to you.

DG, Visions & Voices used a heavily edited version if you made your own class for Wanderer. =D
It did? Hmm, I actually didn't notice that. I never made my own class; knowing how I balance things, it would probably have failed, so I didn't dare touch that option.
This looks pretty good! I especially dig the in-game font. Sub'd!
