"Where were you when the universe ended?"

I Miss the Sunrise is an all-new prequel to 2009's The Reconstruction. Featuring strategic battles, player-created weapons, and unique gameplay around every turn, I Miss the Sunrise is an RPG experience like no other. The full game is available as of July 22nd, 2012.

Version 1.51 released August 12th, 2012.

FEATURES
-No typical HP & MP drudgery. Instead, all battlers have Hull, Systems, and Pilot ratings that serve as both health and fuel for weapons. Reducing any of them to 0 means defeat, so spacefarers beware!
-Create your own pilot. Give 'em a name, then choose your gender, race, and customized personality, all of which determine how you interact with other denizens of the universe.
-Get to know your allies better through dialog interaction and performance in battle. But be careful: some allies may be less receptive to your chosen personality.
-Assemble your own weapons. Use salvaged components to customize and outfit your own weapons, name them whatever you want, and use their blueprint codes to share your creations with other players!
-Fast-paced, strategic turn-based battles reward careful positioning and targeting over brute force. Exploit your enemies' vulnerabilities while covering your own!
-Random exploration maps let you take part in battles and exploration any time you please.
-Customizeable AI lets you determine just how ruthless the enemy can be.

Out with the Old

Happy Nauruan Independence Day, everybody!

For anyone still watching, I've expunged my old site in order to concentrate on my new one (Sungazer Software) full time. Plus, I had a lot of insane rambling from 2009 or so that I didn't want hanging around, so it had to go.

If there were any posts you absolutely cannot live without, or if you object loudly enough, then I could be goaded into having a "greatest hits" archive left intact somewhere. Swayed, even. Until then, though, consider any links to Tilde-One.com to be defunct. (Actually they'll just redirect to the new front page.)

Good night, and keep watching the skis! Uh, skies.

starting in Episode 2, you'll be able to do sidequests to improve your characters' permanent weapons when they reach certain trust milestones.

Ooh, I was wondering how you'd prevent primary weapons from becoming outdated. Will look forward to this.

Another bug to report: Knockback can knock you out of the grid. You can still move back on to it, but it's quite noticeable.

Edit: Typo in Luke's second dialogue; a backslash has shown up again.

Edit 2: (Don't want to make a new post because this is very short) The instance where that happened was in the Modmaster battle, so check that.

That knockback bug is especially troubling, because I thought I'd tested it up and down. Probably an instance where I should have tested for zero instead of one. Again.

(Edit magic) Found it out. It was a very dumb thing. Apparently for one specific instance of the effect I accidentally used the check for an ally attacking an enemy instead of vice versa. So no new version since it's kind of uncommon.
Oh, by the way, minor story nitpick: Why does Luke keep hitting on Marie when Rami said that all humans were given a mass sterilization or something? Shouldn't romantic attraction be nonexistent to them? Or was Luke, like Marie, born before that happened?

Yes and maybe. Good eye! Like with others' emotions, he could be doing it out of habit without understanding why just yet. (Isn't that cute.)
I guess I forgot entirely what The Reconstruction was until I saw someone mention Tezkhra and Sikholon. Then it clicked that this was a thing that was like that other thing that I liked, or something, and anyway the point is I was all hell yes I am so downloading this.

Then I clicked a button and downloads are happening.
You hate fantasy stories, Deltree? o_O For what reasons, specifically?
Wasn't the first Reconstruction a fantasy-ish game? ;3

BTW, I am still writing my review for this game. It's taking a while, but it will get done eventually...

If you mean what my partner-in-crime talked about, she is exaggerating a touch. I don't care for high fantasy, though, like Tolkien-esque things. It's all so dry.

I finished the Hab Zero attack with 1000% hull integrity. ^^

Okay maybe it's not all that hard to pull off. I still feel special.
Aw...I had like 900% or something...

If you find things too easy, do note that there is a hidden difficulty setting. It involves the AI changing station. That is all I shall say.
Wow, so how much does choosing your personality in the begining affect this game?

It mostly makes different dialog options appear when talking to your crew and affects how "roughly" your PC talks. If you have certain parameters that "line up" closely with someone else's, you're more likely to get dialog choices that will improve their trust.

It's a simple system, but it's not like KOTOR where there's a "light" and "dark" side. Try what you like!
xD I have noticed most of the other agressive people and me get along =P

This is awsome, it's like reconstruction on steroids =P
Hey, Deltree! Just wanted to ask, how do I get to the mining station in the Data Mining mission? I know I need to get all my fleets to the goal but I can't seem to locate which node it's in (I guess I should have payed more attention to the briefing lol).

Also, I may have found a bug: in that mission, at the Damaged Station node, you can access the capsule an infinite number of times (and consequently get an unlimited number of high quality stuff).

Gee, tell everybody why don't ya! (Fixing for sure, thanks!)

This is the fourth map in the episode, right? The destination should be labeled as such; it's the big rectangular thing to the top right. The destination node is right below it, to the top left of the Relay that's there. The label should be "Mining Facility."
Weird, could have sworn I went there! Haha I got it now, thanks :)
deltree why are you so awesome
^ +1

Anyway, you have synesthesia, Deltree? That's interesting. I have it too, and I find it really helps when I'm discussing music. I imagine it helps with composing, as well. Despite how self-deprecating you are, I actually think your music is pretty good! I'm not moved to tears by its beauty (like I am by, say, Chrono Trigger's soundtrack), but many tunes in IMTS are pretty catchy.

I think my awesomeness stems from how modest I am!

Letters/numbers do the synesthesia thing the worst for me. It does help me when I'm proofreading documents for other people, but oddly enough, not when I'm scanning for typos in dialog boxes. Imagine that!
