Battle system coding has begun!

And as soon as I receive some tasty screens from the team, I will post them here immediately. :)

I think I've been pretty good with making sure every suggestion and comment is taken seriously and presented to the design team. In fact, almost every suggestion and tweak suggested by this community has been implemented in the game.

So when I take the time out of my day, whether it be one second or a half an hour to write something to notify the community of any and all progress, I do not appreciate when people make a petty attempt at humor and sarcasm. I post these blogs so you know what's happening with this team and this project, not as some storage bin to remind myself of what I just worked on eight minutes ago in case I forget an hour from now.

Now, being that I now have more information to share, I can tell you that an element of the battle system from Breath of Fire III has been brought in to this project's system. EX turns are now a part of the battle system, allowing a character with high enough agility to act more than once per turn. Players will most likely see this effect mostly when fighting enemies that they have far surpassed in level, and not as much with enemies on equal footing. Katt and Bleu, however, have a naturally high agility stat and will likely see EX turns frequently.

We're discussing now whether or not to lower Bleu's agility growth to limit her ability to gain EX turns. Casting party-wide spells several times per turn seems overpowered to us. Your thoughts?

Very constructive atmosphere here in the comments section. Really.
and what the hell are you supposed to say here?

"o cool looking forward to it!!!" that would not be anymore constructive than any of the comments here
Who said anyone had to say anything? Are you required to comment on every blog you read? I sure don't. The point of having a blog is to inform YOU.

I know there's plenty of times where I'll go to a game page and see nothing new posted in months and I wonder, "is this game still being worked on?" My one sentence blog post just answered that question for you. When I get new information regarding this project, I post it. It doesn't matter whether or not that information is brief, long, pushes down a blog post on the main page (there's a big giant "Blogs" button in the site's top navigation for anyone who's that concerned, not to mention you have the ability to subscribe to a game page and be personally notified of new blog posts for said game page), etc.

Finally, I've edited a line in a script. Whoa.

You do understand the purpose of a blog, right? A blog is not one that is of just a sentence. Even if you want to update, at least have a few paragraphs of updates, elaborating on it rather than piss people off by being lazy and only having one-liner blogs. Say something more at least!

Even for myself, I avoid one-liner blogs. At least post a tentative release date on the main page (like me) so that people will be aware of when it'll come out.

Finally, even if you truly could only post one-liner updates, why don't you just post a comment on the main page?!! People who subscribed to your blog will still be updated that way... -.-

Liberty's advice is golden, btw.

OK. Since nobody is getting the point, let's do this your way and see if reading a paragraph is better than reading a sentence.

So I opened up photoshop today after I downloaded some Breath of Fire II sprite rips from some website. I forget what site it was, but it had a nice layout. Anyway, back to photoshop. So I opened up the picture and selected the crop tool. It's the one on the toolbar to the left in photoshop that lets you cut down the dimensions of an image. So I used it to make the picture smaller, and then I erased the background from it, because as we all know, RMXP supports transparency. After that, I edited the sprite just a bit to change the palette. Finally, I imported it into the game and I'm now using it as a battler.

Or...

I added a sprite to the game.

There you go. Now you can rest easy knowing you read eight sentences instead of one that said exactly the same thing. Now I ask you, am I supposed to do this every time I want to say something because you like to read a lot compared to a little?

There is plenty of information about this project on this game page (four pages of information as well as over a dozen screen shots). When I have it, I share it. When I don't have it, I share what little I do have. Would you rather I just left it alone and let it sit among the hundreds of game pages that are never updated?

Some days working on a project go slow. I'm not the only one working on this. I don't have everything at my fingertips all the time. Sorry that my passion for informing you on a regular basis doesn't outweigh your passion to read lines of text and look at pictures.

Did you even read my above quoted post??? The point is, don't waste a blog with a one-liner like that. If you have nothing much to update but still wanna update with one-liner, do so with comments on main page.

Sure, it'll only update the subscribers, but that's the whole point, because the ones who are interested are the ones who have subscribed.
I'm sure all this makes you wonder what kind of community you're in.
Sad, really.
Can't even make a simple blog without getting made fun of and attacked.

People need to chill around here.
It's not like he wasn't going to update it when he had the pictures.
This blog will become relevant to the game in the future.
And no one is forcing you to check back constantly for updates, if you're REALLY interested just check in a few days.

Everyone is going overboard on this thing.
Maybe deleting moronic forum was a bad idea, all the stupidity and negativity is spilling into every crevice of this site.

"The point is, don't waste a blog with a one-liner like that."

First of all, who are you to tell me how to conduct my blog posting activities? Secondly, WHEN THAT BECOMES A RULE I'LL FOLLOW IT. For now, when I want to update YOU on the game, I'll do it in whatever manner I please so long as it doesn't break the rules set forth by this community's administration. If you don't like that, unsubscribe and whine somewhere else.
EDIT: my bad, eplipswitch already mentioned what I was going to say about posting a comment for one-liners.
Still waiting for dem screenshots... tell the team to hurry up!!

Now that's a negative and immature attitude coming from you. For your info, i never subscribed to your game in the first place and i just happen to come across it and giving you some advice nicely, and you go "oh, so negative". Well, fine with me. It's just a suggestion/recommendation, not an order. And for your info, I ain't whining :/ You just assumed I did because you're engulfed by your furiousness to the point where you don't even know who is helping you and who isn't. It's a matter of neither liking nor disliking. Right now, I'm trying to help you by giving nice advice but you rebutted me, so okay, whatever. Continue to be daft.

EDIT: And yes, I understand you posted this blog for future use so that you can add in screenshots at a later time, but if that's the case, you should have just posted a comment saying you will post screenshots in a new blog soon, or a post in the topic "Whatchu workin' on? Tell us!"(http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/7310/) in the forum. That's an alternative where you would post for updates that ain't enough to warrant a blog. This is called professionalism.

Peace out, anyway.

Seriously? This is how you react? You should really try to make use of the tools available to you in this site in a conscious way and act maturely without "the rules" or anyone else compelling you into it... Who knows? You may like it.

Edit:Edit: Meh, whatever...
It's not a rule for people to fart around your lunch or blow cigarette smoke in your eyes. But out of courtesy, most people try not to do it...

Seriously? THIS IS THE WAY YOU ARE ALL ACTING OVER A BLOG POST?
And you have the nerve to question his maturity.
Grow the fuck up.

no, actually, you grow up.

hello i picked up a pac k of cigarettes today. psay tunred

Yeah, all this is totally mature.
But I don't expect much from that crowd.

The funny thing is, when I saw this blog post I thought to myself "why not wait?" just like I'm sure everyone else is thinking/has vocalized.
But I just refrained from commenting.
I'm certainly not going to say some douche remark, because really, what place is it of mine to say anything?
This wouldn't even be a big deal if this blog was on his own personal website or something.

God forbid a developer make a small "coming soon" update.
I'm sure this developer did not foresee the shitstorm that would follow something so innocent.

You are correct. It wouldn't.

But even then, it would still be a very terrible blog post. Also it is kind of funny you would select some of the oldest and most prolific developers/members on this website and say, "I don't expect much from that crowd." lol

You just have so much contempt for a crowd that has and is producing high quality content of the likes of which you could not hope to achieve. I suppose having only been in the community for six months as opposed to 8 years really gives you a lot of insight huh
