The continent of Tairngire, E.C 759.

Regrets and Desires

*peeks head in to check no-one is around, then sneaks in*

Wow... it feels almost alien for me to sit down and write another blog (No. 198 as of writing). Not to mention the last blog for this game was written more than two years ago. And because Icebound is still pending, I'll probably just write the blog here.

So you'd probably be asking me why I'm writing another piece for a game that was completed in November 2014?

Well, thing is... The commercial evil is calling out to me. Like most hobbyists, I do dream about making a full-time living out of doing something I love so I can quit my dreary, soul-sucking 8-5 job.

It can seriously stifle the creative spirit and probably one of the reasons why my game-dev passion just vanished a few years ago. But now, having reached the ripe old age of 30 and forever leaving my twenties behind, I figured that:

1) I can't take life too seriously (most of my games have been pretty serious)
2) Let go of past grudges and
3) It is about high-time I decided to make the life I want to live and not be slave to a dreary job where getting a double bonus at the end of the year makes it bearable (it isn't).

I've also decided to buck-up on my art skills so that when I do go commercial one day, I can at least save myself a few hundred bucks by not hiring an artist. zero-project's (my music-muse) music is free for all commercial work, so that's one less problem to worry about.

Hello Laine, my old friend.

I'm also feeling a bit overwhelmed at trying to familiarise myself with MV. The engine has enormous potential, but all these plug-ins... Yanfly is seriously on a roll. To someone who has been using VX since late 2010-early 2011, to me it feels like the equivalent of going from paddling around in a baby pool, to diving off the 10-metre springboard. But I know it will pay off in the long-term. But I'll probably end up making a few short games in MV before taking this huge step.

It's exciting, but also terrifying at the same time. I need to let go of my innermost fears and just release all that pent-up creative energy. What is my innermost fears, you ask?

Well...

It is the fear of failure. Also, the fear of letting down people who expect great things from you, who expect you to be at the top of your game no matter what. But worst of all, for me at least, is when someone (whether in real life or on the internet) expresses immense disappointment in you. That... has always struck me hard and always sits like a lead balloon in my chest.

As to what happened about a year-and a half ago...

I regret it, and bitterly. I lost a few good friends that day, and I still it to this day. Every time I thought about RMN during my hiatus, that was the first incident I thought of. But I guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

So, here's to a better and more productive 2018! No more fears, no more past regrets, and no more looking back.

This is Luchi, who is now officially back from the dead, signing out.
Blog No. 198 written.

Also, the blog title is totally not a reference to an episode in Granblue.

Holy Crepe :O Congratulations!
Hopefully I'll have 200 subscribers of my own someday :3
Well, Enelysion passed the 3K mark so I'll probably do a drawing of Laine and co using my new Wacom and Clip Studio aka Manga Studio! :D
Hello.
Im trying to get the patch 2.0 to work, replace the datafolder but Patric doesnt shows up.The download where it says Patric/bug is fixed is broken or taken away.
What should i do?When i try to get further Laine just says in front of the door:
i must find Patric before. And hes in the church.

EDIT:Sorry, forget it.I copy and paste and somehow it now works.
Wow! 200mb lets hope Enelysion works fine on Android via Neko RPG XP player.....Well it does take around 2 days to download around 200mb.....if no problem occurs....Seriously looking forward to the game... :)

It wasn't created with XP, so I'd say no.
I'm quite sure this game is best played on a full screen with your headphones on as well. =)

That too :).
Headphones are for sissies. Cry havoc and let loose your speakers. Pump up the volume. Give'er. Let your neighbors know what you're doing.
Eh, I feel the game's gorgeous Celtic/New Age soundtrack is best heard through headphones. ^^ If there is one thing Enelysion still has over Tristy, it's the soundtrack.

You probably already know this, but this page is looking weird to me because of the number of tabs and the length of the titles of those tabs:

Hmm... in my quest to get more makerscore, I should really do a spin-off game featuring Siglud and Cillian, since I didn't really cover their personalities all that well in the game. Maybe just a 1-hour romp through Tairngire again, nothing too long.
- YES, YES! DO IT! Make my dreams come true. ^^

EDIT: You should make it where Siglud and Cillian have to go on various assignments and do odd jobs for people, like from escorting someone of royalty safely across dangerous terrain to going through a dark, dank dungeon and slaying the beast within that troubles the townspeople. Depending on how well the player does in regards to time, how many treasures that they picked up along the way and how well they did in battle will determine their score and reward the player with more goodies or additional missions. You can select these types of missions on a map screen to avoid you having to make another world map again. And you can always just reuse resources and use the same battle and system mechanics straight from Enelysion so you don’t have to seriously kill yourself again by creating or finding more resources for it.

I guess you could do it as a prequel before Siglud and Cillian meet Laine and Patrick, but I guess a sequel could also work too. As for a possible end boss towards the end of the game, maybe if it’s a sequel you could just have Siglud and Cillian having to rescue Laine from being captured and held prisoner by the end boss and they have to fight him or her in order to get her back. Hell, maybe even Laine could jump in midway through the fight and kick the shit of the final boss in the end.

Oh, and there HAS to be a falling out segment where Siglud and Cillian just get fed up with each other after a while and go on their own separate ways before eventually joining forces again. Yeah, that could work.

And I would still love for it to be called, “The Misadventures Of Siglud And Cillian”.

F***, I’m getting excited now.
Yes, I can tell that you are excited indeed for this. XD I was thinking of putting all the spin-off games of Enelysion under the title of 'Tairngire Tales' or something to that extent.

Maybe a prequel to the main game, that ends with Siggy and Cil going off in search of their missing heir. Also, because Tristian and this game take place on the same game world, it would be nice to throw in references as easter eggs. Which is why I'll only be working on this spin-off after I release the demo for LoTL.
Yes, throw in some Tristian cameos as well in there to add in even more promotion. Genius!

But yeah, no rush on this. Tristian should be the highest priority considering how long it’s been in development for. And yeah, making it a prequel with an ending like that probably makes the most sense.
A Cillian/Siglud game would also be great material for a contest game, if the right theme ever comes up.
Well, now with the Tristian demo out, I suppose I can turn my attention to this 'spin-off'. XD
Edited the game's layout by deleting some game pages. Now it looks a lot better.
Oh look. Another milestone.

5000 downloads less than a year after the final release went up.
