I like to set things on fire and steal... : D
My Morrowind Save Game was a bloodbath : ( Whole towns wiped out....

GO! GO! Finish the game! This game must be soo wicked! I want to kill and steal and set fire to things now!
I'm still trying to understand why "complete a quest" or "gain a level" is an inherently "good" action. I mean, if you get a quest to kill innocents, and in the process you level up, the morality system in-place says that the end result of that task grants "good points".
That is, if I'm reading things correctly?

Quests will be only stuff like:
1. Talk to NPC
2. Do what NPC said
3. NPC gets happy, and you get respected
4. Getting respect is good, therefore gives you GOOD points.
Gaining levels means that you get stronger, upgrading yourself is good.
Therefore, you get GOOD points.
Everything that is meant to be a good thing, gives you good points
:)
Feel free to ignore this rant, but here goes:
Gaining levels does make one stronger, and being stronger is advantageous. There is a difference between having an advantage and being "good". Being powerful is not inherently "good". It is the use of said power is the stuff of moral ambiguity.
But, like I said, you're free to ignore this rant and just make your game you want to.
*Edit: I'm not saying that I'm against "complete a quest" being a "good point". If that's part of the flavor the the game world wants to have, so be it. But if leveling up is "good", how does that factor into game balance? I mean, if leveling up causes "good", what does it take for a character to be level 99 and still be considered "evil"?
1: Talk to NPC"To summon this Major Demon, I need the soul energy of these villagers! Kill them all, PC!"
2: Do what NPC says*PC proceeds to slaughter villagers
NPC gets happy, and you get respected"PC, you are so awesome! Now I can summon that Demon! Here's your reward of Gold, Karma, and EXP!"
4. Getting respect is good, therefore gives you GOOD points.Getting respect from this character (by completing the quest), is "good"?

so no good/evil system now? I was actually looking foward to seeing how it'd work out.
if thats true then its pretty dissapointing, for me at least :/

I didn't necessarily want the good/evil system to be removed. I merely wanted a re-think on the idea to make more sense. Or, at the very least, have game-balance considerations so that either side of the moral spectrum were viable. Though, I can understand how thinking through such things could give one a large enough headache to remove the idea from consideration!
Anyway, I do apologize if I seemed violently against the idea of presenting moral choices. I didn't mean to come off that way.

the good/evil point system does seem like a good idea but like merrand said it could be thought out a bit more to make more sense in terms of y ur good or evil
