@chana thanks.

@Khos I experimented with different shades of green and blue and still decided against it.

("if you place the water tile holding Shift every pixel of the 16x16 square will be water.", that's interesting!)
I've been liking that map for a long time now!

I like this a lot. Only thing I think would make it better would be if it was in gameboy green instead of black and white, but it's much too late for that now.
Figured it out a day ago (thanks to your initial post). Thanks!
Holding Shift on the keyboard while placing a tile applies it how it appears in the chipset, regardless of different surrounding tiles... For instance, let's say you place a 16x16 water square surrounded by grass. Normally there will be an edge of grass and earth around the water. But if you place the water tile holding Shift every pixel of the 16x16 square will be water.
Thank you for the feedback, I am still working on the chipset. Corners in the upper layer is a really good idea.

PS: What does shift-tile-placement do? (im not on my computer currently)
Charsets are cute ^^
I think the map would look better if you held Shift while applying the floor around walls and ceilings. Also it'd be best to put the floor's "round corners" in the Upper chipset area and remove the white right angles.
