Just popping out from under my rock for a sec.

I was struck by the sudden feeling that I should blog and post stuff as proof of having vital signs. Have been hard at work! Usually am if I’m off the radar. Mostly starting to work on graphics, though I’ve been trying to iron out various system bugs and make battles smoother. On one hand, it’s a bit discouraging for me to only be able to say “the first dungeon is done!” after all this time, but on the other hand, the first dungeon is done! SOMETHING PLAYABLE
Back in April, when we first started working on DS, we expected the whole thing to be done sometime in the fall. Ha ha! But I’ve promised several people a fall release, and I’ll be uploading a demo of the first level once I get graphical business settled. It’d be a good way to get feedback in general, and truly a demo in the sense of being a demonstration.
And in other news, the overworld sprites had a graphical hiccup. I was already in custom sprite hell by virtue of not using the RTP, but decided I wanted something taller and easier to pose. The result:

Yes, the walking animation’s arms look really wonky right now; I’ll be fixing them later. The wonderful thing about having not started on overworld sprites prior to the switch? I’ve already re-pixeled everything I’ve needed to and beyond! The main character was the only sprite I’d really started, and all the other ones are placeholders. Incidentally, that’s the reason the screenshots haven’t shown NPCs or any other characters out of battle. I’d feel weird uploading screens mishmashing RTP chibis with the main character’s sprite kicking around!
I usually like showing off some SNAZZY GRAND MASTERPIECE I've drawn, so here you go, first boss:
"The great thing about being evil isn't terrorizing humans, it's showing all the other demons that I did."

Wow, I totally forgot about this project, and still don't remember it... but I subscribed to it ages ago, apparently.
Good to see it's still around, in any case!!

Don't worry, you don't have much to remember! I've been fairly reclusive and also don't post much. Besides that, the game's title gets the gist across. Unfortunately it leaves out the world-spanning epic quest to collect the elemental crystals needed to stop the unicorn war and re-unify the broken land via time travel, thereby saving it from the clutches of the Dark Lord.
