========== Bug Fix ============
OK< I think I've resolved the main problem with the menu; there is still an issue with the event causing you to go upwards towards the first blue switch, this I "think" has been resolved, I'm not sure, please let me know!

Thank you everyone that reported the bug so it could be fixed! ^.^ <3
===============================

Hearing a voice begging for help, you awaken; you play as Yumi, a woman mysteriously transported from home to a dark, cold, destroyed and seemingly abandoned village: Variable Village.

Yumi realizes she has no memory of how she came to be in this dark village, as well she realizes the her mother and only child and son, Yang, is no longer by her side - causing her to fear for his very life.

This is where you step in; you must help Yumi find her missing mother and son and escape from this horror she has awaken to.

*Creators Notes: Please read the blog entitled "About Variable Village" before playing the game for important instructions and information. Thank you.

"Game Uploaded" Information...

First of all, I want to apologize to everyone for the game not being up-loaded for you to play; my beta tester is apparently not able to get on as much as she had been able to now.

I will post the game today, but please let me know if there are any glitches or problems.

The completed game will be uploaded as soon as my Beta Tester is completed with it! :3
Looks interesting, I'll probably give it a try once there's a download for it!
Wow. Its my dream to make a game in which I do everything myself, rather than just ctrl-C and ctrl-V scripts and make a long credit list. This has helped me take maximum advantage of the resources available (ie events) and especially variables since they are an integral part of any project.
Your game looks great, I'll give it a go. If nothing else it will at least give me a boost.
I'm glad I could help inspire(?) you, LivingEffigy; I was hoping I'd be able to help give someone else great ideas or help them with great advice or suggestions like the others did for me in the forums:

I hope you enjoy the game, it will be up-loaded, again, like I said, when my Beta Tester is finished with it. ;)

LOL, it most certainly does! If you play it, let me know how it is and if theres any errors or corrections needed please. :3
Hey there. I played Variable Village today and I've submitted a full review. It should be accepted in a few hours. Ultimately, I found the game enjoyable and it did have a Fatal Frame 2 vibe to it, but I'm assuming that the fact that you're modelling your game on a horror series means it is supposed to be a horror game, and you didn't do quite so well there.
Nice little game, I enjoyed it. This game has certainly inspired me :)
Wow! 0.0 I got two people to play the game tonight and 1 of them to write a review even! Thanks to both of you!

@Dark Gaia: Yeah, I knew the game was lacking in the actual horror department, but, I have never made an actual horror game before and I was working with bare minimum chipsets. I wasn't expecting it to be the number 1 best horror game out there, but I figured it would be a great start. Thank you very much for being honest though and I hope the review is at least decent. :)

EDIT:
By the way, did anyone have trouble with the audio? That was a major concern of mine...
Had no trouble with the audio.
*Wipes brow of sweat*
Oh thank goodness! That's a large load off my back with that then... Must just be me. Thanks! ;3
Well i have trouble with something odd>.<
i'm playing the game now and when i pres esc or D or any key it's says cannot load face set...and it's shuts down ..:(

Tnx^^ and don't worry even if you test it 10 times it still has some trouble(i know on my own)
Yeah, I was afraid of this... I'll have to up-load the file for that. I'll link it for everyone at the top here in just a minute.
is it bad that i don't have the graphic-faces folder?
all i have is audio,font,game.exe,game.ini and game.rgss2a witch is encrypted
....i think you shoul upload the game again...or is it just me?sorry about that:(
Aargh! Oh, I am sooooo sorry! That was my fault... I forgot about encryption. >.<
Yeah, hang on a minute, I'll re-upload. :)

EDIT: This is going to take some time, my machine is slow... I'll have tore-upload the game tomorrow, until then, I am taking the Download down so no one else has this issue...

Thanks for the bug reports folks! This should be fixed tonight and re-uploaded first thing tomorrow! :)
Cool! I’ll try this out!
I hope you have fun with it, Pashberry; I haven't had anyone complain about any more errors, so it should work great. There's only one issue that I still haven't been able to clear up with an event in the game that automatically forces the player to move towards a switch on the wall.

For some reason, this event, even though I tell it to, does not turn off; so if anyone hits it and then returns to the area and it plays again, my apologies, I don't know how to stop this from occuring. :/

Other than that! Please enjoy the game!

I loved he feel of the game and I thought the variables all worked flawlessly...But that ending really pissed me off /:
I'm not insulting the game in any way, but still,(Spoiler Alert) the poor girl gets nom'd on by a big ol' dragon. She's searchin for her family when she had no chance of seein em.
The game was beautiful and the events were flawless, but the story was lacking /:
