There is now a website you can use to share your custom content with other users! But you're still welcome to use this page to share and discuss content.

Below is a list of finished custom (user-made) content. To add these characters, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me)
Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

If you have posted custom content in this thread, I will (eventually) add your link to the list above, along with a small screenshot if you have included one. Be sure to test your content in-game before posting.

Helpful things:

--> Medium build girl, the .psd that was used to create the built-in characters, is available with layer names in English.

--> Not feeling artistic? You can use any of these images for making custom characters.

--> Notepad++ with syntax highlighting for Heartache 101 can be a big help with story creation.

--> If you are writing story content that includes the appearance of existing characters (built-in or custom), the following list may be of reference:
ID 0 = The Player
ID 1 = Nakajima Miki
ID 2 = Ikeda Keika
ID 3 = Onishi Tsubasa
ID 4 = Kaneshiro Shihoko
ID 5 = Kaneshiro Riho

Just in case someone lurking these forums is a sensitive soul, they had a fair warning that foul language was to be found in the custom content.

*puts hand up* I'm a sensitive soul!
Yep, yep!

Fun fact: I briefly considered using that character generator Animetor is using for this game way back in the early stages of development.

What did you use? Because I am quite interested.
I've recently run into a bit of a problem with my character's encounters. For some reason instead of showing the full character, it's always just a closeup of her skirt.
Yeah, I'm noticing that's definitely the problem. This was the size the base character was when I opened her in GIMP, but I guess I have to play with the size a bit. Is there any way to reduce the size without warping the dimensions?
I have no idea how to use GIMP or anything like that... sorry.

Are you using the same file that the built-in ladies were made with, along with Masako, my quad-tech-in-progress, and dude797's girl? It has a base dimensions of 650 by 1193 pixels. What I've been doing is, after I get a pose I like, use the Save as function, to save as a PNG file. When I'm ready to re-size, I open the PNG file I want to re-size, then use the "Scale Image" function to go down to the more acceptable size of 255 by 468.
alternatively, you can resize the psd file. then once you save your desired pose, it's ready for in game use. just be sure to make a copy of the original file, in case something goes horribly wrong.

I've noticed that, after applying changes to the model anyway, re-sizing the PSD leaves some kinda lines. I want to call them "artifacts", but that might not be the proper term. Anyway, these lines don't appear if I save to a PNG, then re-open the PNG to re-size. But whatever works, I guess!
Much appreciated, friends. Not to worry though. After playing with the sizing in Paint.NET I've managed to figure out the correct scale. All I needed to do was reduce the size to about 40% and she was roughly Tsubasa's size. The only trouble now is getting the darn thing to read my extra tachies. For some reason the game won't read any tachie beyond OTHER 3
you can only have tachie's up to OTHER3 you cant add states i dont think. (sorry if that didnt make sense im a bit stupid)
Crap, really? I'm sure there's some way of working around it. Otherwise I'll have to lose quite a few.

The only way I can think of to work around the graphics limit, outside of flowertheif giving support for more slots to work with, is to... make another profile! However, this is probably a bad idea. Even if you turn off encounters for the "extra" profile, you'd still have be be extra-careful when you're doing an AFFECTION UP event. You may end up incrementing the wrong girl!

Convolution revolution!
you shouldnt try to make every emotion have a tachie as you can use other states to substitute (you could have the DISLIKE state substitute as angry)

Now I have to think. What could count as OTHER that isn't already handled? "Surprized" was an example that the help file mentioned. Tsubasa without her glasses (or any bespectacled beauty without her glasses) would count. Akari has a "Singing" pose. Showing four somehow-related girls on-screen is one (Marrendish quad-tech reference, of course). Forcing a non-standard background as well as a certain pose definitely counts (dude797 mentioned this).

Man, that last one alone opens a virtual floodgate of possibilities!
I need some feedback. I've been playing around with the custom background idea, but I feel something is still sorta missing. Obviously, the art style in my work is different from the in game art work, but any other suggestions are welcome.

The idea is my toon is on stage singing, which opens up possibilities for expanded karaoke and club scenarios. Imagine being able to play a 20 second chorus from your favorite song and have it like your custom toon was singing it!

How many Other slots do you need, Mintberry Crunch? It looks like more slots would be useful to a lot of you and I can expand that pretty easily.

Ichimaru_Gin, here's the link to medium build girl again.
I'm going to need about 13 others. Although, if it's too much trouble I can probably make due with 10.

A concert in the Stadium was what I was assuming, though that would require a helluva following for the singer! Having a girl with a "singing" pose with the base-line Club or Karaoke graphic works for me, but it's your character.

I'm going to need about 13 others.

Thirteen extra poses? That... could be necessary! I'm curious to know the specifics and circumstances. If there's a story reason behind some, that's fine, but I'm still very curious.
I'll give you guys a heads up about the new customization features in the version I'll be putting up pretty soon, since many of those features were requested here.

- Endings can now be customized to exclude the usual scene and phone call in the future. Use the ENDING CUSTOM header command for this. You can then set the PLACE to be any recognized location.
This feature can also be used to effectively override a generic ending. (However, you can't override the event with Miki that occurs after school on the last day)

- New custom responses for events in which the girl asks for advice, is asked if she remembers the date location, reminds the player of a date set up by her, is asked what she thinks of a date location, and is asked about her type of boy. Unless I've missed anything, every speaking line for a character can now be customized.

- There used to be three slots for assigning tachie to miscellaneous moods: OTHER1, OTHER2, and OTHER3. There are now unlimited slots. Use the same syntax.

- New conditional phrase for checking the day of the week.
Example: CONDITION = MONDAY

- Relation ID can be the ID of a character whose profile is in another file.
Example: RELATION ID = 7 IN game_profiles.txt

- Files in subdirectories may be optionally written as a short local path that includes the name of that subdirectory.
Example: JUMP 50 IN Built-in/game_stories_3.txt

This will force the game to *only* look for that file in that exact location. The advantage of this is that the game will find the correct file if, by chance, there is another file existing somewhere with the same name.

If you do use the old format, the game will try to be smart about the order in which it looks for the file. For instance....
Example: JUMP 50 IN game_stories_3.txt

Here, the game will first look for the file in the same subdirectory as the referring story file, if applicable. It will next back up to the "Stories/" directory and look there. Finally, it will search all subdirectories in the "Stories/" directory for the file (at most one level down).

The new local path format can be optionally used in all places where you can give a file name, whether it's for profiles, story, tachie, or music.

This is all very good news, flowerthief. I'm mainly wondering how these changes are going to affect older profiles (like Masako), if at all. Then again, I might end up changing Masako's MIND-based advice event anyway to make it more appropriate for her.
