1) Carryover explanation

Fragile Hearts SD is made in the same folder (project) as the original game. Therefore, it allows players to carry over their saved data from the first game into the second. This page serves as a list of the things that will and won't be carried over if players choose to use their savefiles.

2) What things carry over?

i- Players will be able to keep all items in their inventory. While new characters in Fragile Hearts SD cannot equip items from the first game, they can still sell them for extra money at the beginning of the game.

ii- Held money will not be decreased.

iii- Story changes (see below)

iv- Environment changes (see below)

3) What won't carry over?

Character levels, unfortunately, cannot be carried over from the first game. This is due to the fact that the creator opted for new graphics, thus new character profiles needed to be made so that character battle graphics could be updated. As such, recruitable party members from the first game will have set levels, ranging from 10-14.

There are 3 branches at the end of FH1 that drastically change the situation of the characters in the game. This affects both plot details and environments. The branches are as follows:

1A- Midard died. You cannot recruit him to your party in Fragile Hearts SD.
1B- Midard survived. If you find him, you may perform the recruitment side quest, thus allowing him entry into your party.

2A- Haddy became the High Witch. You will not be able to recruit her to your party, but having her in a position of power will be of great benefit to you as you will gain access to better resources.
2B- Haddy did not become the High Witch. You may find and recruit her if you perform the recruitment side quest.

3A- Fergus stayed with Haddy. Fergus is a happy knight, training an army of new recruits. You can recruit him without performing a recruitment side quest. He and Haddy are also a couple.
3B- Fergus left Haddy. He is miserable. He wants to be with Haddy, and he needs you to help him woo her. Performing this side quest will allow you to recruit him to your party.

The plot changes also bring about environmental changes to the game. For instance, the High Witch's castle will look drastically different if Haddy is not the High Witch, and different sprites will be working there. As well, Fergus' courtyard for training will not be there if he did not decide to stay with Haddy at the end of the first game.

5) Pre-existing Save Files

I was nice enough to leave a couple save files for those who want to see the opposite outcomes of the choices.

File 1 choices that were made were: Haddy is the head witch, Midard dies, Fergus and Haddy are together.

File 2 choices that were made were: Haddy is not the head witch, Midard is alive, Fergus leaves to go out on his own.

File 3 is at the end of the game, right before the final battle, so you can make any combo of choices you want but you'll have to play through the final boss.
