I have been gone for a very long time. Every time I touched my project, I would just end up closing it again. I want to work on it, but I lack the motivation. There are so many little things to do that I just lack the want to complete it all. I realize that I must not only admit this to you all, but I must also admit this to myself.
Pokemon Trinity is no more. I have no desire to continue working on it and it has just become a waste of space on my hard drive. I had a very good run with lots of support from you guys, but in the end it was just be trying to push off the inevitable. I saw this coming for a very long time, but I never wanted to admit it to you all. Even morso, I never wanted to admit it to myself. It is over, I will fully resign from the creation of this game so that I might fulfill some other purpose as I see fit. I have other callings willing me for my attention, and I will submit to them for the greater good. I am sorry to all those who wished, dreamed, had hope, loved, liked, and even hated my project. You have spent much needed life energy watching over the topic and waiting for something new to happen. I will change the status to Cancelled so that you may rid yourself or your anxiety. I apologize in advance.
Haha! I probably had you fooled!~ Nah, I am kidding. It has been a long time since I worked on this admittedly, but I'm back baby! However, one thing I have realized is that if I am to complete this in a reasonable time, I am going to need assistance. While I remake all of the maps, I need someone working in the database making the stats for all of the Pokemon and their evolutions, making items and their descriptions, setting the Pokemon's moves for their corresponding levels, balancing stats for the Pokemon and enemies, and such things as that. I also need a more minor role for the putting together of some graphics into sheets so they may be used in RPG Maker 2K3.
And maybe a few testers if anyone is willing to sign up for the part and give me feedback as I create, or recreate as it shall be for a while for these maps. These are all necessary roles so that I might focus on the one thing that is of major importance to me right now--the maps. I want them to be super pretty and stuff, so I want to devote my time to them for now. I will gratefully be accepting of anyone who is willing to join my team to give me their all, or even some, of their effort. Thank you for your time,
The creator who never gives up.
As you all probably know, I've been re-creating the maps, so that they not only tie together better, but look better overall, in the newer style I'm going for--a more natural look.
However, mapping really isn't my strong point, so I need someone who's just plain better than me to lend a hand. I can only do certain types of maps effectively, so it's more of a struggle than I let on. I just need an able-handed person with a good grasp on geography and such, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Well, development has really slowed to a limping crawl. These maps are a lot more time consuming to do than I initially expected. Why? Because not only do I want to remake those maps, I want to make them better. I want the world to have an overall better flow to it than it does not. I want to, when I go to create the world map, have it make sense when it comes to overall size.
Logically speaking, it doesn't fit together like a puzzle in a very efficient manner. If I was to put all of the maps together in a large screenshot, some maps would probably overlap. That shouldn't happen! So I aim to fix all of that when I go to remake the maps. At this point I probably won't be releasing any more demos until I reach the end (or near such point) unless it is to a group of Beta Testers, simply because I really want it to be a surprise. I want you to go into the game and see things that are cool and new. That is my reasoning. If you don't agree with this, feel free to tell me about it.
However, I feel this is for the better when it comes to games. You've played the Alpha, you got a taste of what the game'll be like, and when the finished product comes out, you shouldn't have to eat what you already ate all over again. Even if you enjoyed it, it'll be somewhat of a stale experience the second time. So yeaaaah.
I'll still be accepting trainer submissions, and all of them will make it into the game in some way/shape/or form. Whether it's in the form of a trainer you fight along the way, in the endgame content, or part of the battle thing in that one town you probably haven't been to before the Water Gym (which isn't functional in the most recent demo and doesn't even exist in some of the ones before that.) So feel free to keep giving me more of characters you want to see, just don't get too outlandish with them because I can't put those in the game without just feeling like they don't belong. Maybe as some hidden easter egg in some hidden area you have to look for heavily, with clues of course, to find.
As you may or may not have seen, I uploaded two maps of/for the game with different tiles. Overall, they feel nicer and have a friendlier effect than the ones I'm currently using. I really would like to use them, but I haven't been able to figure out how.
If you guys have any suggestions for how I can do some sort of Pre-rendered mapping in RM2K3 without hogging a bunch of memory and lagging the game, it'd be really helpful.
Maybe I ought to put in a request for a DynRPG Plugin, lol.
ALSO: Creating the Running Sprite's harder than I expected, if anyone wants to help me out with it, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's just not going very well the way I'm riding.
Well, after some hard experimentation and a few... minutes.. of work, I've finally implemented some Running Shoes!
Now I've just gotta figure out when would be an appropriate time to give them.
As for when I'll release the newer version with Running, I can't say for sure. I don't feel like that's a thing important enough to release a whole new Demo for, but oh well. I haven't been making much progress, even though I have TONS of time. I'm lazy, to an extent. I want to work on my games, but every time I do I end up distracted and doing something else. So don't expect anything huge any time soon.
What I would like to know is: if I added some endgame content, what would you want that to be? I've been thinking about it, and I've never really liked RPG's that you train your team/character in for such a long time, and then you really can't do anything with him/them after you've beaten the game. So what are your thoughts?
I've already gotten a plan where people can battle other people's well-trained Pokemon, but what else?
Tried to submit a new download and had it denied... It'd be easier for everyone to get a notification of a new download and then remove the others, but whatever person denied it apparently had derp on the mind, lol.
Anyways, I'll just put the link HERE for you guys out there.
I messed up again. Those who've played V0.3 from the start know exactly why. I'm very sorry about that, the download has been updated... again. I ought to play test every iteration, but that'd get really tiring...
Oh well, I digress. New Download. Bug fixes.
It's been mentioned that the walking is too slow. I only decreased it by one level. But that seems to make a drastic difference. I also don't want to just remove that one level decrease, because I feel the Player just moves too quickly and I don't like that at all. If anyone knows a working Running tutorial, that'd be great. The ones I've tried haven't worked so far...
Because of a fluke, the last download was unplayable. Whoops. I've updated the V3 Link with the fixed version. If you already downloaded it before, just apply the patch. It's faster than downloading all over again. If you already applied the patch, then there is no reason for you to download it again.
As you may or may not know, I've done a lot of bugfixes, added a few things, changed some things, and I'd like any and all opinions on what you guys think should be changed or removed or added.
Remember, I don't know what you don't like if you never tell me!
On that note, I'm uploading the newest version--try it and tell me what you think. Or don't if you'd rather wait for the complete game. Don't know when that'll happen, or if it will at all. But, I don't want to end up as one of those games that everyone is all hyped about-and then they just stop. I hate all of the people who do that. Don't care why or the reasons behind it--it's just plain wrong man! Just plain wrong.
Oops, I'm rambling. Anyways, look forward to the new Download!
