In the wake of great tragedy, people always ask why.

What is this?
Con is branching narrative.
It features eleven different endings, custom art, and a smooth jazz soundtrack.
In it, you play as a vigilante trying to avenge his best friend's death.
At the game's conclusion, you will kill one of the eight characters closest to you.
They have it coming.

Btw, 'rouge' should be 'rogue' in the summary. It's one of those obnoxious french loan words like bureau where the spelling relies on some kind of inexplicable moon-logic to decide which vowels go where.

The first section of the demo (with Roy and Glen) seems to be from the unedited version of the script. Not sure why. There's also a couple of grammar/flow issues that I'm just now catching in my own additions to the script, plus a couple that must've crept in during the inputting-the-word-document-into-renpy process.
We should do a re-combing of the script before our next release. It'll improve things a lot.
I love the smooth jazz, though. And your artwork has gotten so much better.

Once chapter four is complete, I'll go back through and edit 1-4 again. I think there are a couple of ideas we need to seed into the earlier chapters, and I also want to make sure I haven't derped continuity somewhere. Once that's done, I'll probably do an editorial playthrough of the game once it's released, just to make sure nothing sneaks into the final version.

That jazz is incredibly smooth. It was also completely EriksBlue's idea. I would never have thought to mix smooth jazz and high fantasy together, but there's kind of a noir-ish element to the story, so it works.

When the script for Act 1 is done that will used as the finished demo. I'm still working on new background art and as I finish it I will continue to update the demo. I will leave blog messages when their is a update.

Oh my god. I am sorry. That thing is basically a technical demo.
The updated demo is going to be a lot more polished. Expect significant updates to writing, art, sound design, and gameplay (there will be actual dialog choices, as opposed to the on-rails tech demo.)
If the characters and the situation seem like something you might be interested in (or you'd like to write a review of something that could be a crazy trainwreck,) please stick around. The script for the new demo is 50 pages and counting, but the end is in sight. It will feature things like character depth. And ghosts.
Thank you again for taking the time to give this a shot, and I hope you haven't been completely scared away.
In any case I've been following this, entirely custom and an idea that it could be interesting, and had been wanting to play it for a long time, so, yes, I was a bit surprised! but I see, not ready yet, so, I'll certainly play the next demo. For when (if you know)? As for a review, I'm not the best at this, but maybe if I make an effort, I can come out with something, I'll have to see.

I'd be totally flattered if you reviewed the demo when it came out, but there's no pressure. Any attention from anyone at all is a welcome change for this game ;p
I'm not sure we have a definite deadline for the new demo, but I just crunched through a few scenes, so we're still making headway.

I kinda wish I could post teasers for the script, since there's part of it that I'm very happy with, but it kinda sucks without the context.
I will say, though: hot tub scene like you've probably never seen before.
