While this project has gone QUITE a while without a substantial update, I'd like to inform you all that the little hiatus (well, for lack of a better word) I'd been on is over! Meaning over the past week I've been pouring more time than usual into making progress on CoT's development.

While it's not something to complain about (and I'm certainly not going to do so), I've been fairly busy lately! It has nothing to do with game development or even my job, really, but on top of working there's been a lot going on in my life that's been keeping me from working with RPG Maker as much as I used to in the past. Because of that, progress had come to a CRAWL.

Despite my extra social activities and new-found lust to be active and outgoing, I've been putting aside some time each night before bed (with a little help from my good friend caffeine) to do a little gaming making, and that's been helping quite a bit! More than I thought it would, I should say. My body may need an extra shot of motivation in the mornings due to the shortened sleep schedule, but it's all worth it!

So how close am I to being finished? A little over halfway, I think! Once the party moves on to the southern continent or Rorstaria, it's harder to judge the story's progress. Let's just say there's FOUR MAJOR DUNGEONS left to work on, and that's it!

That's treason talk, sir. The people of our fine community'll hear no more of it.

I concur with this statement! Sacrifice your social life & get back to game making! (Cracks a whip)
While I prefer the name Tsufana from the Heroes game more than Tsufanubra, I really like the look of that title screen, and the screenshots are pretty epic.

Will this be fairly faithful towards the plot of the original trilogy, or has that been pretty much scrapped in favor of an entirely different plot? Obviously not talking about dialogue, since you plan to make this more story-driven, but more or less referencing Veryl as the main bad guy in the first game, with hints of Venaitura and Celes and the primary villains behind the scenes.
Speaking of Title Screens, I'll be having an actual TITLE SCREEN (hopefully) made out of the promotional artwork when my friend's able to do so. The "Dragon Fantasy" one I'm currently using just... doesn't seem to work anymore =P

In regards to this game being faithful to the original Dragon Fantasy: it will! Everything's (roughly) the same, except that all the game's events will be fleshed out much more than they were originally. Veryl's still the villain, the locations are more or less the same (just with less caves!), and it still features that one dungeon no one can pronounce the name of (Venaitura)! I'll not get into any more detail than that. =B
I haven't played the first, so I'll refrain from doing so until this is done then xP
Bahahahaha. I'd say that there's enough change to allow a play-through of the original Dragon Fantasy without having this game spoiled for you!

I made fairly decent progress today! Completed implementing two major story scenes, and I plan to do at least 2-3 more before hitting the hay. That'll conclude most of the scenes within Ziazu, the game's third major town/city. After that, it's off to tackle another dungeon! Just three to go after that one!

I've always thought of it as either "Ven-uh-turrah" or "Ven-ay-turrah". But I wouldn't be surprised if it was something completely different, like: "Veh-nigh-uh-too-ray".
Close! The way I say it (and intended for it to be pronounced) is "Ven-eye-chu-rah."

Also, in other news, I'm making fairly decent progress! I've almost finished eventing another cutscene-heavy part of the game, and once I've finished up with that, it's off to preparing the next major dungeon! Woo.
I've been playing the demo so far, up through the strange woods and about to hit the mountain pass. As much as I still enjoy the original, this is shaping up to be a very decent remake.

I just kind of wished Celes set some of those soldiers back at the castle in their place, especially the ones who kept doubting her skills. Or at the very least had Sando and Lifa say something when they started mouthing off about Celes in their presence.
Only a very DECENT remake?! We'll see if I can push that rating up a notch once it's finished!

I'm certain that this time around, the story's going to be the main attraction as opposed to the gameplay. Or maybe they'll both be received equally? What I DO know is that, after the Mountain Tower, things take a turn for the interesting.

Also, that's exactly the type of reaction I was trying to invoke! Far too often the supposed hero is praised a little TOO much. You're always going to have the loud-mouths who share their (usually unwanted and ignorant) opinions.
Well, what I've played, I've enjoyed it all, the visuals, the story, and gameplay, so I'd say it's been successful so far.
