Skip the Intro?

I've noticed a lot of RMN games have the option of skipping the intro. Yes, I figured that out all by myself. Winning! Anyway, I'm guessing this is a popular trait in games and I'll add the skip intro option in my little game as well. My only question; is it worth adding a skip option if the intro is barely over a minute long? I was also wondering why designers who spend so much time on the intro would just have players simply skip it!

Well, on replays people would sometimes not want to sit through a long intro. Like at the beginning of Skyrim and Deus Ex I always get up and make coffee during the long unskippable intros because I don't want to watch them again. But since yours is so short I say don't bother. Don't put something in just because other games do, think about whether it's actually beneficial for yours. :p
Alrighty, thanks for the tip! I'll probably just leave the intro as is! I always liked games were you don't have to sit through lengthy cutscenes (where characters stare at the sky then say something boring like " . . . the stars are radiant with everlasting spiritual sparkle life that co-exsist true out of the mystical crystal blissful bearing souls of blah blah . . ."). There were some games (Xenogears for example) where it seemed like playing the actually game was the reward for sitting hours on end with unskippable dialogue! I understand about how character development is important in RPG's, but so are the battles! Uh, oh! I'm getting excited. I better stop.

Better yet, don't put in long pointless cutscenes like JRPGs tend to. :0

I'll drink to that!! Those long pointless cutscenes are the main reason why I kinda lost interest in playing those games. It sucks too because there are JRPGs with great battles and fun character development, just the stories are too slow and I just can't sit through it anymore.
