Note: Legionwood 2 is still in active development. The current release is Beta 3, which includes the first chapter of the game and half of the second. Please report bugs or balancing issues to make future releases of Legionwood 2 better! The next release is Beta 4, which is scheduled for release in mid 2013.

~~

Being developed in the new RPG Maker VX Ace engine, Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm is an epic length traditional role playing game and a direct sequel to the much loved Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords.

Legionwood 2 offers you a 15+ hour quest that takes place in the sprawling empire of Trevelle which is filled with involving puzzles, challenging enemies and tons of adventures. A new class and sub-class system allows you to customise your characters to a high degree with over 80 different class combinations available.

Legionwood 2 is much more open-ended than the previous game. A morality system tracks players' actions and decisions, and different storylines and quests can be accessed depending on the player's morality. Notably, you can't encounter everything in the game in one playthrough.

Legionwood 2's story takes place three centuries after the conclusion of Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords. Barbarians from the western land of Entoban have invaded the empire of Trevelle, occupying two major cities near the western border. Lionel, a guard in the Imperial Capital, has transferred to a battalion assigned to retaking the captured towns. Tonight, they move to liberate the city of Corinthe, where Lionel's lover Clara waits, alone and in danger.

But there are also other strange happenings of late in Trevelle. Monster attacks seem to be on the increase for an unknown reason and trade with Charn to the north has mysteriously ceased. Are these bizarre events linked to the war that is seemingly about to engulf the Empire?

New Release Incoming!

Well, this is it, guys. Beta 4.0 of Legionwood 2 is finally through beta testing and all reported bugs have been addressed and finishing touches done. Aside from last couple of cutscenes (which need to be redone thanks to an accidental deletion), Act II of the game is complete and ready to upload.

It's been a long time coming, but I'm aiming for a release some time next week. I'm just waiting on my internet quota, which resets this weekend, and then I'll be uploading. It certainly has been a rush to try and fit this all in between university assignments, and I'll be glad to take a break when it's online and playable.

More announcements to come when it's actually released :)

I love the first one, well, I mean, the other two, so can't wait for this one. Come one Ace, release already.
Soooo confused... there was another Legionwood 2 that was not a direct sequel, right? What happened to that? Is it cancelled, or has its name changed? And does this take anything from it in terms of story or gameplay elements?
Hi! I think it might be wise if I did clear up some confusion... Yes, there was another game called Legionwood 2: Revolution in Taltarus being made in VX. It wasn't a direct sequel and didn't carry over any gameplay elements or story from the first (in fact, originally it was a different game entirely just called Taltarus but I unceremoniously slapped the Legionwood name on it). However, it to be honest wasn't very good, so I cancelled it.

This is the true Legionwood sequel. This game directly continues the story of Legionwood and is more similar in gameplay than the false sequel was. It's intended from the start to be a Legionwood game instead of another unrelated game that was branded as such. That said, perhaps a better name for it might have been Legionwood ACE?

So, to conclude, the other game, not really being a Legionwood game to begin with, has been dropped and the series officially consists of only the original game and this sequel.
darn i was a big fan of seeing myself jump around the battle screen )':
Awesome, Legionwood sequel and on ace, can't wait to try a demo of this! :D
i can wait because i want to finish legionwood:tale of two swords first!
@DarkGaea...can i import the savefiles from legionwood 1 to legionwood2?
No, this game is made in a completely different engine and your Legionwood 1 save files will not work. Why you'd want to use them though...

I am sorta glad to see this up, but nothing will be better than the original. :)
Really looking forward to this as I enjoyed Legionwood so much. One thing, though, which makes it look like there's 2 stories running together, in the description you say it's set nearly 300 years after Castoth was banished, and that the peace was short lived. Which is it? (That's assuming that you agree that 300 years of peace is not short lived.) Is this a leftover from the cancelled game trying to sneak its way back in?
Well you know, three centuries is kind of a bit long to call short lived. Relative to the spans of thousands of years touched upon in the first Legionwood, however, it is quite a short period.

It's meant in the context of that one would expect there to be thousands of years of peace after a foe like Castoth was banished (as was stated in the first game) and in that sense, the peace is short lived because it's only been a mere 300 years until trouble stirs again.

But I get your point. I'll change it.
I'm making a lot of progress on this game! Check the new Blog post!
Welp, guess I should get cracking on refinishing the first Legionwood. >.>
Yes, if you haven't finished the first game, this might be an excellent time to! However, keep in mind that I'm catering to those who have never played Legionwood 1 as well, with a stand alone story.

Wow, it's awesome that you get four reserves in rpg maker vx ace.
Haha, I did finish the first game. I remember getting stuck in the final dungeon because of some buttons, and the game crashing after defeating the optional boss. :P

Anyway, looking good so far, I'll be keeping an eye on this.
Where do I download the game??
#hotlynks: You can't. It isn't available yet.
Hello, I'd like to test it out ! Thanks, Dennis
Sure! I'll add you to the list.
