Info:
Balance of Requiem (BoR for short) takes place in the year 1641 on the planet Vanadux, a peaceful world wrapped in its own delusion.

The story starts off with Sana, a young Gesallian squire just beginning to grasp the reins of swordsmanship. After the night of the Lunar Festival; an annual celebration taking place every year in Gesallia, the kingdom is attacked by assassins in black cloaks.

Fearing for the king's life, Sana and his close friend Selis rush to the audience chamber but end up finding him face down in a pool of blood, and a man wearing a white mask sitting on his throne. After engaging in a short, unwinnable battle with the masked man, Sana suffers a heavy scar across his left eye as proof of his own weakness. His scar however, allows him to use the mystical magic source known as Maris which he was previously unable to use, and with his newfound power, he promises to avenge his kingdom by one day slaying the masked man.

Watch as the beginning of a two part story unfolds!

Features:
- Rosegate Shrine(A main hub that can be accessed via the Archive Pedastals, which provides a great deal of services.)

- 10 Playable characters, as well as numerous "Guest" characters, some of which will be cameos!

- A bit of linear gameplay, though expect some great optional content, including a massive boss run!

- Vanadux Archives (A bestiary like those found in Final Fantasy!)

- Navigate through some maps by jumping, grappling hook, or bouncing mushrooms!

- Expected to be roughly around 20-25 hours worth of gameplay.

Seeds of Destruction:
At certain points of the game, a strange occurrence may happen called a "D Seed Shower". The skys turn a dark magenta, the earth decays, and the seas rage.

During a "D Seed Shower", Vallen appear constantly through interdimensional rifts which when defeated grant
bountiful rewards. It is uncertain as to when these showers will occur, however if they do, proceed through the
area with caution as you will be unable to access the menu or even save!

The reason behind the "D Seed Showers" is suspected to be related to the "Lequis" the grand scale earthquake
that split Vanadux into several continents as the first recorded shower happened nearly right after.

My little Butterfly

Whew, three months without updates! (It kills me that it's something bad, but..)

Balance of Requiem..honestly, it had a good run. I can't say that I'll flat out cancel it, as I need something to go back to, should my new project I just put up ends, or gets destroyed, so I'll simply leave BoR to rust away, and whip it out(lol..) should the moment come when I feel like continuing it again~

For anyone who's interested in my new project, please feel free to visit the game page for it:

Peace, and have a pleasant day everyone~ :)

Sana's original name from the novel was Soma. :) That story differed..well greatly from what I have now! xD Glad you enjoyed Rasnidko, he is quite the challenge if unprepared, and upon the new version release he'll be even more difficult! >:D
Your intro makes me want to play FFVII lol

Your intro makes me want to play FFVII lol
xD Thanks~ Lol FFVII is still one of my favorite rpgs so I got inspired by it a little. ^o^ The intro has already been changed a little for the new V1.1 though. :)
It's my hands down all time favorite too, my 2nd favorit is star ocean 2 which i'm trying to impart a feeling of into my game, but the polishing takes FOREVER lol. Anyways I was really sad in the first fight that you couldn't save your buddies, i wen't through allt the trouble to kill the beastie first byt still had to kill them :*( Super fun boss though, I'm going to have to think of ways to spice up my battles (no copying i promise ;-p) oh, what software do you use for editing music? I was going to try adding some of my own sounds and ME but i can't find a good freeware sound editor...

Beats me..lol I just go to Newgrounds.com, or BlueLaguna.net they both have some really good music available for downloading especially BlueLaguna if you want stuff from commercial games. :) Don't worry about Sana's comrades btw, lol you'll have the option to get one of 'em back later!

Lol Star Ocean 2 rocks in its own category 10/10 imo, though my fav Star Ocean is the 3rd one. ^o^
I also tried to kill "beastie" first in hopes of saving my two underlings. Unfortunately, Sana had other plans. Such as Brom becoming a ghoul.

Edit: Damn typos.
Though he's completely optional, and has little to no dialogue after acquiring him like some other optional characters seen throughout the years of gaming~ :) Only reason of getting him: He punches things hard!! xD
Brom makes me think of Pokemon for some reason... dunno why
I kinda stoped liking RPGs after the ps2. My favorite PS2 game was Dark cloud with FFX in 2nd but I haven't really liked a FF game since X. I ment to ask you, how did you get the names to show up over stuff like the Requiem crytal? is that a script?
Yeah, it's Woratana's Floating Event Name script lol, I've been looking around for an Ace version of it but, no luck as of yet. :) You've played Dark Cloud "and" FFX? Damn girl, you're..awesome!
I like building towns!

I like building towns!
That's great! Lol, sadly there won't be many towns in this game as..they sort of lose their purpose thanks to The Base having every service available within it. At most, maybe 5-6 towns? :o

Btw, I have finally found a floating event name script!! *o*
You could add towns that give you interesting/helpful npc dialogue, or sidequests and special items to be bought.
Also, not every town needs to be a rest hub. Make some that has a monster problem. Maybe a curtain town crimelord needs some proper retribution ^.-

5-6 towns huh?
how big are they?

Hmmm.. by chance, have you been playing Stalker? :P This sounds rreeeeeaaaalllyyyy cool though, so definitely subbed!
You don't always need lots of towns, I like the base camo idea. Areyou going to be recruiting npcs to beef up you camp? That was me favorite pert of Suikoden, I think my next game will be a Knight who has to rebuild a decrepid castle. I tried it with vX waaaay back when and it was a hastle, but I'm better now...lol

There should be about 3-4 small-medium sized towns, and two kingdoms which will be quite large lol. :)

To answer that..sort of yes and no lol, more services do become available over time in The Base depending on how far you've gotten in the game like after you've rescued Taija she opens up the Vorce Tome store, but you can't just recruit any old someone after you do something for them like in Suikoden. :)
I'm currently at work recoloring the rtp actors, which I will allow anyone to use. Lol, once I finish up my first one I'll open up a section for it via BoR's homepage~ ^o^ (Yeah, we got 'dat B roll!) B3

EDIT: RTP Recolorings section moved to the forums~
Updated the game logo~ :) Now properly shows the appearance changes, as well as excluded the villains..they just didn't seem to fit into that bunch~ ^o^
