A Role-playing fantasy game set in an unnamed universe. Two countries, Elysfamia and Meneuse, have been at odds for all their history. The patron god of the elysians, JANIS, watches over the affairs of his chosen country, while the technologically advanced city-state of Kruso supplies the menesians with arms and weapons with which to defend themselves from their war-lusted neighbors across the sea.

Relative peace between the warring countries has been attained for the last fourty years... but could Caleb, the current King of Elysfamia and his court lackeys now have other plans for the future of the whole world? And might they involve you, Alan Maxwell, a lowly blacksmith's apprentice, who like many others has unexpectedly been drafted to serve in the elysian military?

Features

This game has been in development for a long while. Currently, the first released version includes a quick beginning dungeon and two larger dungeon areas, as well as access to most of the cities in the Elysfamia continent.

- An old-school RPG adventure
- Detailed environments and dungeons with many puzzles to solve
- Consistent use of default RTP, mixed with resources from both Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003: you won't find horribly mismatching tilesets, face graphics etc. here
- Plenty of different items and skills
- Status effect spells are no longer useless! You have 100% chance to apply stuns, silences etc. at a low mana cost... and you will need them
- Three out of four of your main party's members make their appearance in 0.50
- Plenty of side characters to join your party
- The beginnings of an engrossing story
- Fast running speed (with so many games still trying to make do with slower walking speed, I guess I should call this a feature)

I'll be happy to answer any questions, comments or critique (for a start: no doubt a game made in RM2000 with its random battles and other quirks is bound to have it's enemies) you may have playing this game. Providing fun gameplay that rewards exploration has remained my goal from the beginning. I hope to piece together a game that can prove to be as enjoyable as possible, with plenty of optional side content aside the main story.

I want to add that there is not so much story development going on yet. The plot is there (and it is picking up slowly), but I felt at this time the need for some feedback before I go much further in development. Sidequests are worked on still, but a few of the larger ones are already hinted at (disappearing pets, sunken continent, Najadi etc.).

First release

So as a game developer I should never even attempt to MAKE PROMISES ABOUT DEADLINES, since they never work! There should be laws against that. But as it happens I have now gathered together a first playable release of this game.

I appreciate any comments you might have, especially if there's any improvements you think to be made on the dialogue, which frankly is crap at some points, and battle difficulty, which feels to me still very uneven between different areas... Try it out and have fun :)

Who else loves old school rpgs such as this? ;)

... enough to get me interested...
Downloading and will tell you my thoughts later...
Definitely got that old school vibe.
I only sampled just a portion of it, and while I'm not a big fan of RM2K's RTP, it's actually handled pretty well here. You may want to double check the placement of dialogue, as a couple of times it seemed to get cut off, but other than that it seems pretty solid.
