Fantasia:Announcements!!

I have several announcements regarding characters, updates, and a new demo coming out.
IF YOU HAVE CREATED A CHARACTER PLEASE READ!!

While adding things into the game, I noticed that adding in everyone's characters at once is very time consuming and can be a bit tedious. For those who have created a character I need to ask you a question. If I uploaded a page of every basic function of fantasia along with the characters, could you edit them? I believe that I will be able to add characters faster if I had other people working on them while I simultaneously create the game.

All I need is...
  • Jump(1 frame)

  • Attack(3 frames)

  • Defend(1 frame)

  • Movement(3-5 frames)

  • Hurt( 1 frame)


I can do all the special attacks, but It would be much easier and faster if I had everyone collaborating on sprite editing. Please and Thank you:)

What has been done?
  • Able to analyze enemy HP by pressing A

  • Able to view status by pressing S

  • Restart stages by pressing R(Does not work in mid air)

  • Able to return to the Title screen using T

  • Playable HUB Maps instead of stage maps

  • Hazy Desert Inspired future level designs

  • 4 new monsters

  • Characters are heavier for quicker jumps

  • Levels are currently being redone

  • New HUD


Possible HUB Sample Demo Coming out tonight!!

I plan on releasing a new demo that will be the Rebirth of the 1.1 Demo. The previous one was the 3rd Demo, but now that the game is being re-imagined, It will be called 1.1 Rebirth. It will feature 4 levels of Tropical Coast and 1 level of Hazy Desert. After that, I will probably put the levels I don't use anymore as an extra, but they are no longer in the main game. There is some progress since the last one, but until I make a HUGE update with NEW characters and stages, this should keep you occupied.

I am going to release the demo to the public, but if you would like to test the game and tell me if you find any bugs or design issues, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it:)

I'm fine with spriting if you're fine with waiting. Also, I wouldn't say no to a chance to test~
I am perfectly fine with that. I can rest easier knowing that someone has my back with other areas of the project. I will upload a sprite sheet later, but I'm going to try to release the updated Rebirth demo tonight. I'll also add you as a tester.:)

Keep in mind that the demo is shorter due to stage reduction. Later on, I will redo the Tropical Coast stages and make them branch off like the Hazy Desert stage.
can you maybe introduce a way to hide the HUD? maybe have a button to toggle it on/off. or have it so that each peice of info is separate and toggles on its own when it's activated. so its hidden by default, and when you get a piece of gold your total gold is shown for a few seconds then autohides. and so on. that'd be nice.

i might be able to test. if it doesn't take too long. i have a few other things to do first tho heh
That is exactly what I did. I'll have to add a button for the HP bars and stuff too. So far, all I have is the Status Bar and Enemy HP toggle on/off. Thank you for offering to test:) I need someone that will tell me the truth so I can fix things. It shouldn't take long because the new demo is short.

Also, Bai is still in her Beta stages and doesn't work properly yet.

Also, I'm really liking having control over two characters. Lydia is nice when I want to go quick, and Bai is good for going safe or one-shotting nuisances. Though, Bai is a little stiff I think, and controls a little weird. Oh, and occasionally jumping with
Bai she'll glitch and use both of her jumps on the first jump, though maybe I'm accidentally repressing the button.
That's true. Bai is still in her early stages so she does feel really weird. I'm currently working on making her fell like a slower Lydia with a double jump and massive attack power.

Thanks for the feedback! I will be working on this game often, so an updated demo may be out in a few weeks.

Ha Ha! I got that error too. You must have downloaded it before I fixed it. If you re-download it now, the error will be gone.
I am the Fantasia ninja, you don't know~ Posts, downloads, views, I shall be FIRST. Oh, and Bai can infinitely jump in the corner of the wooden place near the end of a certain level. I forget which one, but the wood structure had a large hole with moneyz in it.
I've never seen that. Was it the sunset level? That's the only one with a wooden structure with money in it.
Fantasia Ninja, eh? You are pretty fast and you do seem to keep track of this project often. When I upload the sprites, make sure to make kiki great so I can add her ASAP, otherwise I'll help you make some. You could send them back and forth even if they are WIP.

Kiki will be the FIRST fully programmed character thanks to your dedication. Thank you for sticking to it Gourd:) And jeep the bug reports/errors coming because I would have never tested that.

Also, the word Ninja reminded me of something. What if I made a Ninja character for a new platformer edited off of this engine?

I think it was the sunset level, and I'll try to make Kiki look good. School ends tomorrow and I'm going to want to sleep the day after but the day after THAT, I should have plenty of time.
Great!! My last day was June 4th. Hopefully, I'll have the sprites to the creators by then. Btw, each area will have 1 time of day for each level (Day, Sunset, and Night, Possibly Rain or Snow also).
