hop in my pimp mobile

Actually, she just hopped out of it. :)
Man, I'm torn between how elegantly composed this is and how busy it all looks. There's so much detail that the eye kinda freaks out if you just glance at it, but if you look at it intently, it's beautiful.

edit: I mean stare intently in a non-creepy way!

LOL!
-- Both the golden coach (owned by Queen Victoria) and the palace behind it, (Versailles) were built in the Rococo style, which is ungodly busy, but even the tiniest details were works of art.

I'm glad you like the effect!

You can stare at it in a creepy way if you really want to. :)
The problem with this is it lacks sense of depth.

Of course it lacks depth! LOL!
-- There are 3 separate images laying against a static backdrop: the coach, the winged fae, and the girl in the gown. Think in terms of moving paper dolls against a background. The only way to truly get depth with Renpy, is by making a full-sized illustration for each and every movement of the characters, in addition to all the scenery. This of course, would make for an ungodly huge game file. No Thank You. People are already complaining that the game is too big.

RMN doesn't like me enough to give me a user title. :(

What you could do to give it depth is to blur out or defocus the background so that the characters and objects that are "in front" of us stand out.

And add shadows to the characters sprites.
-- I seriously considered blurring the backgrounds to create depth, but the details were so pretty I just couldn't make myself do it.

You don't need to blur it too much. Try playing around with it, find something that works for your project.
