Desert, actually, which is a different thing altogether. People and animals can survive in desert. Wasteland is uninhabitable.

Of course the Australian Daddy Long Legs is the only poisonous* one that is really a spider...

And that's not including the cute/cuddly-but-deadly critters like koalas, drop bears, kangaroos, platypii and magpies.


*(Poisonous to insects... barely)
