The Death of Von Stabbingmore

"The Death of Von Stabbingmore" is a quest for revenge and a contest entry for the Random Collab Contest 2012. It has been created in a single week and is appropriately short. It can be beaten in about 15 minutes or less depending on how quick you are to figure it out.

The whole game takes place in a small village where Duke Aaldrick Von Stabbingmore comes to collect his "bi-weekly taxes" one time too often.
A man tries to persuade him into cutting down on taxes, and is cut down himself as a response. You, his daughter Florette (no pun intended), want to take revenge.

Lucky for you, Duke Aaldrick Von Stabbingmore dismisses the death threat as a mere joke. On to do the deed!

This game has done a splendid job of battling him. All you have ready to use are your voice (once you learn offensive techniques) and what you can find in a village. Potatoes, for example.
You need to use them in the right order to get anywhere, but as there are plenty of hints you can logically easily figure it out once you experiment a bit.

There is a bit of humour in this game including the character-puns, the clichéd noble on his high horse and the simpletons. There are no soundeffects aside from character "bo-bo-bo!" in different forms and in different pitches, which alienated me at first, but soon become very loveable and funny.

It is a little bit unfortunate, though, that there really is no sound aside from that. No music, either (credits excluded), which leaves the already muddy and simple graphics without a real atmosphere.

The story in itself is as clichéd and simple as it can get, although it takes a slight twist against the "revenge is everything"-vibe.
A happy ending is included, however irrational and odd that might be.

Still, this is a clever, short game. It does what it's supposed to do and has a clear focus on what you're trying to achieve - killing this duke.
It's short, lighthearted fun.
