It's finally there. I have uploaded the first public Demo for Realms of Arcanum: Generations. Check it out!
I had to go through a few iterations since there were some nasty bugs, and I couldn't do as much as I could for the deadline, but I have most of it half-done, so the complete Chapter 1 shouldn't be that far away!
The Demo contains about 2 hours of gameplay. You need to have the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP installed in order to play it.
I've managed to wrap up a working demo for my project, and I'm looking for Testers! The demo itself is about 2 hours long, includes a total of 7 playable Classes, features a small optional area, introduces the main characters and sets the background for their story development along the game.
I thought I should drop by for some Progress Report once and for all...
So yeah, Realms of Arcanum just got wiiiider. I have tweaked the resolution to 640x416 (up from 544x416), so some battle scenes will be less cluttered (such as the BP/MP bars) and overall the player will be able to see more and in a much bigger space, which I find to be awesome!
...Well, what wasn't awesome is the fact I had to readjust every single text, be it dialogues or item/skill descriptions, to adapt my project to the new resolution. It was a pain in the goddamn rear, but I definitely think it was worth the time for the very strong improvement that it means. Along with that, I switched to a much slicker windowskin to boot! Here's an example of the battle scene with the updated resolution and windowskin.
What do you guys think? I have updated every screenshot in the Images and Gameplay section to reflect the new change.
Well, now it's back to working in the actual game... I should have the next Progress Report posted in a couple of weeks, and then I will reveal the release date of Realms of Arcanum's first chapter. Stay tuned!
