I honestly wasn't going to upload this game, because really this is just me experimenting and learning the program, as well as trying out some design concepts I want to utilize in more ambitious/better projects. But, I figured I may as well, if for no other reason than to test the waters I suppose.

The story itself is kind of half backed, and the game can be completed in about half an hour, but again, this is just me learning. The project I have in mind next will have a much, much more thought out story and characters to it. So, what exactly is this game all about?

You are Captain Locke of the Imperial Army, and your long time enemy the Dominion is advancing on your position. You don't have the man power at your base to stage an effective defensive, however, there are three guilds, a Fighters Guild, Thieves Guild and Mage's Circle (Original right?) that you can get aid from. However, time is limited and you can only get 2. Gaining the aid of each Guild will have it's own benefit, as well as adding their leader to your party for the final battle.

In addition to lacking manpower, morale is also very low too. As you gain more Guilds to aid though, the morale will increase, though it will vary depending on which Guilds. The moral will determine how effective your soldiers are in the final battle.

Features:
* A short RPG for those who want a quick little adventure
* Several player choices that could possibly have negative effects (It is randomly determined if it will or not)
* Multiple endings, depending on player choices, aid received and morale.

All the game's music is from Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II, except for the victory music which is from Freelancer. If this is a problem, I will take it down and make a version that has different music.

Updates;
1.01:
- Minor change made to the final battleground maps.

1.02:
- Some typos fixed
- Changed some maps so they loop, keeping the character in the center of the screen at all times, except for the battleground maps.

Please let me know what you think with constructive criticism. Of course I won't mind praise neither :P

Also, I know that there are probably still typos in the game here and there, please let me know of any you see @_@

I got the profile for Project Maiko approved and on the site. It's mostly just 7 screenshots but they give a good idea on the style the game is going for. Check it out and subscribe! http://rpgmaker.net/games/4064/ <3

i feel cheated
Can I ask how? Was there anything particularly flawed about the game? I didn't lie about what the game would be in the description. I welcome constructive criticism.

You forgot the Dark Brotherhood

They will be added in Homeland: Tribunal :P

Actually I plan to one day make a more expansive version of this game that has more Guilds, and one of them will be Assassins, though I won't call them the Dark Brotherhood :P As tempted as I am to have a character that says "Hail Sithis!"
i liked it,though there should be more decorations(like flowers and stuff),not the same npc sprite for every guild member..but for a 1st try its not bad :)

i see a lot of bioware inspiration in this which is funny b/c of the music

and i would have said longer but you already did

Yes I did basically try to make a bit-sized Bioware RPG X)
Welp, I just finished my blind LP of the game. I had a really fun time playing it. I'll post a link here when it goes online.
im a bit curios how you get all three guilds...

Here's a hint;
Do the fighter's guild quest first, then search thoroughly around the cave for a specific item. Look for something that looks a bit different from everything else. There will be someone in one of the other guilds that will be able to make use of it
ok beat the game i liked the ending sounded a bit like it was setting up for a sequel (the mage's ending at least)

Don't actually have a sequel planned, but I do plan to have other games take place in this setting. It just won't follow this.
Short RPG. It is very basic but your choices in this game do matter. I went with thief and mage guild first, and got creamed. You absolutely need some soldiers on the frontlines because the battlefield is not a relaxing place where u can casually open your menu and heal up. Good game.
