Final Fantasy: Discovery is an RGSS3 learning project aiming to mimic popular Final Fantasy series mechanics and blend them into a single game.

For decades, since the discovery of the Fire Crystal in Palamecia, the nation has been growing increasingly bold, looking to expand their territory and grip over Gaia. Of the five nations that make up the world of Gaia, only the Burmecian kingdom of Figaro has prepared themselves to challenge Palamecia, led by Emperor Vayne...

Fifty years after the Crystal's unearthing, a young girl, Ashe, emerges from where it once slept, claiming to have come from a gateway to other worlds similar to Gaia. She appears with a dire warning; the Crystals of Gaia and many other worlds are in danger. After a chance encounter with Lyra, the Princess of Tycoon, Ashe sets out with her to stabilize Gaia's Crystal of Fire...

A former Palamecian engineer and airship pilot, exiled from his home after an incident in the past, embarks on a mission to infiltrate Palamecia and observe, and if possible, steal the Fire Crystal from Palamecia. What he finds there launches him to join the bigger fight against the Empire...

A stalwart Dragoon, Reeve, from the Burmecian seat of power in Figaro, leaves the kingdom to work alongside Mysidian twins, Wedge and Vicks, on various assignments from the Elder of Mysidia. He hopes to reclaim the honor that the Burmecian Dragoons once held long ago, when his father was a Dragoon under the previous king...

In Figaro, the king's personal bodyguard, Beclem, finds a young female Caller on death's door after a long journey from Aquaria, and takes her under his care. The girl, Ellie, reveals that the Esperkind her people communicate with also feel that many worlds are in danger of utter collapse. They will need to unite the humans and Esperkind once again, as it was in the distant past, to overcome the battles ahead...

Across the mountains, in the Sanubian deserts where the famous Gold Saucer rises from the earth, the leader of a secret spy organization finds information important to Figaro's mission. The time for her to choose a side has come, and Parker, of the Gold Saucer Syndicate, always picks the winning side...

Far to the south, in Ivalice, a civil war is brewing between various political figures, coinciding with the relentless defense of the borders against demons emanating endlessly from a civilization long since destroyed. A young Lionguard trainee, Leon, is tasked with ending Ivalice's plight, allowing the once mighty nation to stand up against Palamecian advances...

In the Bisga Greenlands, home to chocobos, moogles, and people of all kinds, a reclusive hunter watches in horror as the Palamecian war machine marches on her lands. The hunter, Priscilla, vows to put an end to their destruction of Gaia's natural resources...

Deep undercover in Palamecia's military ranks, a rebel soldier who's been fighting the Palamecian Empire almost his entire life is about to bring his organization into the light, for the sake of defeating them. With his custom firearms in hand, Kelger joins the fray...

Final Fantasy Discovery is very much about bringing it all together, both in terms of mechanics and the game's story. I hope you enjoy it.

In my humble opinion, if a week is a long time to someone, then they have bigger concerns than creating RPG Maker games.

Making accurate scripts/annimations/database and balanced skill system, along with equipment can take alot of time - more than week. Look for yourself how long took that one guy who tried to make starter development kit of FFVI (FFVI-SDK). And he didn't even make it, even with so much hopes put into it. We have pokemon starter kits, mario, etc. and it have lots of fans around, who work with this. Well I see much potential in your project, and what I want to tell is that if you abandon this project, release it so people could start they final fantasy fangames easier and make them better. You will also enjoy it more if people start making games with your credit rather than abandoning and deleting this project!

This still wouldn't qualify as a "starter kit." Dargor's kit aimed to replicate a game exactly as it operated on its original platform in order for people to make games based ENTIRELY on Final Fantasy VI's algorithms and game mechanics. This project uses many different ideas from a series of games.

Even with that, I see you gathered alot of resources and put into good, final fantasy'ish style along with cool systems, so it could be qualified as base/kit for final fantasy style game, and considering noone ever made something good like that, I believe it would catch much attention of other people, as there aren't really any "true" final fantasy fangames. So I just hope you won't delete this project and release as it is if you ever decide to abandon this one!
There sure are "true" Final Fantasy Fan Games, especially here. Look up "Final Fantasy: Blackmoon Prophecy." That one's a gem.

Forgot to add - vx/vx ace engine...
Hey I like the look of this =) If you need a new title screen, I can come up with one possibly!

I will definitely take you up on that when I actually decide on name for this game. Everything now is in code names. Even the character names are all subject to change at this point. :D

Again, I always seem late to these parties! I just looked through all the images and am really stoked to see this thing come together. I am also really nervous about getting invested in following this, because all great games take a REALLY long time to come together...

... but the wait will be worth it I'm sure! Looks great so far!
With that said, I've never seen an RPG Maker program cut production time the way VX Ace does. It's mostly thanks to intelligent scripts written by competent people. Almost everything I've added as a script has had a customization module included, which makes setting things up much easier.

So I don't think you'll have to wait as long as you think you will. Graphics, on the other hand, aren't exactly easy to come by these days, since everyone crutches themselves on that horrible RTP.

Graphics will probably take longer to put together than anything else, but I'm hard at work on that, too.

This should make you even more nervous: http://rpgmaker.net/games/2842/
This looks awesome, I especially like the changes you have made to the battle system :)
Here's hoping the FFIX character is Vivi :D

Anyways the game is looking great so far I'm especially excited you decided to go with the PSP resources the art style is very natural progression from NES -> SNES -> PSP, I hate the chibiesque style they use on the DS for the remakes.
I've already confirmed that it is NOT: Vivi, Steiner, Beatrix, or Queen Brahne (sorry No).

=)
BOOO!!!! :P Vivi was my favorite character...Steiner was just funny :) Definatle would NOT want the queen though lol.

OK new guess is Quina (would like to see this ?guy? get more of a story as it was lacking a bit in 9)
Well, as far as I can see, this looks pretty good. Nice menus and rips.
The more I see, the more I fall in love :D Delicious looking visuals, I can't wait to sink my teeth into it <3 As for the hidden character? I'd be more than happy with Zidane, it wouldn't be the first time he's been a cross-over character and I certainly prefer him to Quina :D
It isn't Zidane, and I'm a little surprised nobody has guessed correctly yet.

Zidane's out eh? Dagger/Garnet, Steiner, Freya, Quina, Eiko, Amarant, Vivi, or Kuja maybe? xD
If everyone keeps guessing the same characters, this is going to take a long time. :D
Is it Beatrix? :D Not many choices left other than her, Garland, Mikoto, Lani, Cid and Necron. (I hope it's not Zorn/Thorn..) I'm a FFIX megafan~ xD

EDIT: Any of the Tantalus troupe?
