Week of Updates: Day 3

WEEK OF UPDATES: DAY 3
Today's update covers Paradigms. They were briefl part of the game before, but were only tested and then removed. Back then, there were a few Paradigms and they all offered a lot of bonuses to any character who equipped it. I'll also be going over the small changes made to Nethicite.

PARADIGMS
Paradigms have returned, but now they are character-specific and unique. Each character has several Paradigms that can be equipped, but only one may be used at a time. They are NOT interchangeable during battles. The effects granted by Paradigms are all unique and cannot be replicated in any other way, via Augments or otherwise. Here are a few examples.

PARADIGM EXAMPLES
Cid - Pickpocket: Increases the chances of successfully stealing items from enemies.
Cid - Bandit: Changes the Steal command to Mug.
Reeve - Dragon Tamer: Reduces the damage received from attacks made by dragons.
Reeve - Master Dragoon: Changes the Jump command to Dive.
Vicks - Bonding: Restores own HP when healing other allies.
Wedge - Pyromancer: Increases the effectiveness of Fire-elemental Black Magic abilities.
Lyra - Bratty: Chance to apply Migraine on attacking enemies.
Ellie - Attuned: Chance to apply Refresh at the start of battle.
Priscilla - Huntress: Increased chance for Preemptive Attacks.
Stiltzkin - Alchemist: Effectiveness of usable items is doubled.
Leon - Chivalry: Protects near-fatal allies from attacks.

There are many more Paradigms to be found, and each can be unlocked in different ways. They can be won from the Coliseum or other minigames, taught to the player by NPCs, and rewarded via special scenes. Some can even be earned by unlocking certain Milestones (achievements). Each character has several different Paradigm options.

NETHICITE
Nechicite remains mostly unchanged, except for their Level Up Bonus. None of the Nethicite Aeons will increase Speed or Attack Power permanently. HP, MP, Strength, Mag. Power, Defense, and M. Defense are still increased upon leveling up, depending on the equipped Nethicite. Ellie still retains her ability to use unique Aeons that other characters cannot summon.

The following are level up bonuses applied to Nethicite Aeons. When a party member is equipped with Nethicite upon leveling up, the following bonuses will be applied to their stat increases, the same way Final Fantasy VI did with Espers.

  • Ifrit: Strength +1
  • Shiva: Defense +1
  • Sylph: M. Defense +1
  • Titan: Defense +2
  • Atomos: M. Defense +2
  • Madeen: Mag. Power +2
  • Golem: Defense +3
  • Phantom: MP +10

  • Valefor: Mag. Power +3
  • Odin: Strength +3
  • Leviathan: HP +25
  • Phoenix: M. Defense +3
  • Asura: MP +20
  • Bahamut Fury: HP +50
I think "Optima" would be better name instead of "Paradigm": "Optima" suggests that it optimises character's performance in battle, while "Paradigm" name kinda makes one think about constant changes in battles, that you can switch in and out of a Paradigm 'just like that'.
The only reason you think that is because you could do it in FF13. The name is fine.
