Cavalier of the Sky? Not bad.

Primeforce is a classic fantasy RPG set in a large world of several nations, rich characters, evil plots and one hell of a ride in this 12 hour game.

Sound
What's positive in this aspect is the sound effects. It's not your everyday default sounds making noise in your menu, which is a nice touch. The music is in the game varies from serious themes from The Last Remnant to more easygoing themes of Atelier Iris. The soundtrack featured in the different dungeons is what I loved the most - the different themes fits each dungeon/zone. The sound effect the window text makes may become a tad annoying in the long run.

Graphics
The graphics in Primeforce is diverse and yet again none of the main cast is of the old RTP, I liked Brutus & Valon's sprites the most, even Zan looks neat despite his villainous ways. The mapping is generally of good quality throughout the game, which is a must when making lengthy games like this. It's clear that the developer has drawn inspiration from other great games like Zelda - As the wolfos sound from Ocarina of Time and one boss spirte from Majora's mask makes an appearance in the game. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but including material from a great game like Zelda you have to be aware that expectations will rise.

Gameplay
The game features a Tankentai sideview battle system. Which fits the game pretty well, it's balanced throughout the playthrough and though some bosses seems like just another enemy with higher stats. As mentioned in the previous reviews, there's still some passability errors, which is a gamebreaker for most people. This maybe what's stopping this game from really shining. There's also some minor typos and grammar mistakes.

Story

The story isn't a bad one, but a little cliche. The villain is presented quite early like the other reviews state, but what I find interesting is the plot twist near the end of the game. Maybe the developer wanted the players to believe that Zan is the antagonist from the start only to get a revelation and smack in the face at the end or maybe it's just a FFIX inspired final boss. Either way, the characters in the game has personalities (except Ellie who seems to just tag along) and a story of their own as the game progresses. The story of Primeforce is ambitious and big, but may be a case of swing & miss - Example in the final dungeon where you encounter the miniboss Artorian (Dark Souls inspired much?)who seems to have a pretty deep backround and place in the world, sorta just perishes. Well, he serves as an unlock to an optional boss later in the game but the point being that there's several characters and plots that isn't explained thoroughly. This isn't a game with a fanbase large enough to make assumptions and theories of the "mysterious" characters and what not.

All in all Primeforce is an enjoyable game with a good story and cast of characters which is recommended if you're looking for a decent lengthy rpg maker game!
