Liked Castle Oblivion 3? Check out the Remake of the original Castle Oblivion! http://rpgmaker.net/games/7548/

New to the series? For all of you who are new to Castle Oblivion Series, I highly recommend you to check the "History of Castle Oblivion" section!

Story:
A scientist known as Evan has his own hobby of exploring places around the world. Rumor has been told that a treasure is hidden somewhere on a very rare island that is said to be hidden deep within a fog so thick that not even the eye of a deaf captain could see it. As the young scientist prepares to sail out in the sea in hope to find the hidden island, a greater evil awaits them that neither Evan or his companion are aware of. Will this treasure hunt turn out as it was expected, or will a drastic wave change the course of this adventure?

World:
The story takes place on the ancient island of Strombidge. This island isn't the normal paradise you'd travel to on your vacations, this is the island that's so well hidden that no one's ever found it. The story also takes action in a place beyond reality. Is it a dreamworld, or is it a paradise? Is it even real? You'll have to find out about that yourself!

Gameplay and Mood:
The gameplay takes place in 2 different worlds! On the mystic island, Strombidge and inside the floors of The Castle. The game is meant to be fun to play, exciting, emotional, scary and challenging. CO3 will deliver an epic mix of both reality AND imagination. So if you're the fan of games based on true reality or the fan of the games that are surprisingly imaginable, stay on, this game might do the trick for both of you.

Features:
- A mysterious castle filled with over 9 different worlds to explore!
- Exciting and climactic story with twists!
- Fun gameplay with a good mix of exploration, battles, puzzles, scenes and more!
- Well mapped areas with beautiful, creepy, mysterious and unique atmospheres.
- Minimap system that displays in your upper left corner which you can turn on/off at almost any point!
- Secrets! Hidden arrows, items, skills, bosses, rooms, side quests and all kinds of goodies! Gives the game a good replay value.
- A challenging difficulty. The game requires thinking, rather than repetitive
button mashing.
- Two endings! A good and a bad one.

Estimated game length: 30-40 hours.

4000+ Downloads Thank You & New Game Announcement

Howdy! I'd like to dedicate this post to all of you who have decided to give CO3 a go. It's been really wonderful to hear from so many of you that you've enjoyed the game so much, even though it's my very first game. Seeing CO3 alive and active today is a great and motivating treat that keeps me going and exited to develop more and more games. Thanks for everything, guys.

Another thing that I would like to mention concerns the latest game I'm working on. It's called "Cold at Heart" and even though it may not look like CO3 and the CO1 Remake for that matter, it's still pretty similar. Like the Castle Oblivion games, Cold at Heart is at its very core a dungeon crawler.

The game is inspired by games like Super Metroid and Resident Evil and features fully custom graphics and a soundtrack (composed by myself). You can check out the game by clicking on the following logo:

Please note that the game is still in production. The demo available is currently in its Alpha stage, so any potential bugs, or errors are most likely going to be fixed for the full release.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to stay tuned for my upcoming projects!

I'm in floor 1 and not getting very far. You start out all by yourself and you're extremely weak, the rats in the temple can all stun you (because that's their ability in the default database) and I came very close to dying to them several times. The worst part is the second boss. You need really good RNG to defeat him, if he goes berserk you will be stuck healing every turn. And that boss can also stun you. Sorry but when you're all by yourself and all the enemies have stun attacks, it gets annoying fast. I'm going to try the second boss one more time but if I get BS again, that's it.

EDIT: Beat the second boss, but surprise: third boss ALSO has stun attack. Just, why.

Yeah it left a huge impression on me too! What did you think of the story? I thought the main plot, presentation and cutscenes it was brilliant. Everything between Vincent and Azen was nice too, all the way through untill the very end of the game. I also really liked Gilgamesh and Dilan and their development. Even the guy from that snow temple part of the game was a nice surprise. I think that was in CO1 anyway. But I also wished Kelarly did more to the story with the other party members.

I liked the whole concept of Castle Oblivion. My most loved character is Gilgamesh. I especially liked the relationship between Vincent and Azen. In the remake, Luiishu does explore and give more characterization for the other party members. I can disclose to you right now that there's very more story in the remake. Honestly, you should definitely play this remake as soon as you can, because I would like to hear your thoughts.

Did a lot of players rage quit back then?

I just read a lot of comments and watch lets plays for the game haha.

Yeah I feel similar to you with Castle Oblivion. I really liked the relationship between Vincent and Azen and how Kelarly handled that first, then Gilgamesh second. But what I liked most was the concept of the castle and how memories are stored in it. I thought Kelarly handled the whole concept well.

Yeah I'll try and play it eventually but I can't at the moment. I can say though Luiishu has strong talent when it comes to mapping and I can see the remake maps look great!

There were some good let's play of the game on youtube. And I know Kelarly made a video to help people get through the water cave dungeon, because a lot of people said they got stuck on it, but I didn't know anything else about lots of people quitting.

until you have to go back through the dungeons and defeat all those elemental spirit battles.
I actually don't remember that lolol.

author=boos405
Lol, ok. What part did you get most stuck on before cheating though?
When I played CO back in the day, halfway through the amusement, I simply didn't had the patience any longer. The enormous labyrinths maps influenced me to need to cheat and fight through the enemies with ease. I don't exactly recollect what floor I decided to cheat for the rest of the game. The game still made a huge impression on me back in the day. It was fun yet an undeniable irritation for me. I can understand why people rage quit that game. It's not a game for the newer audience.

Well in my experience I didn't have a problem with it until near the end but maybe I'm different from the regular player then? Yeah once you got near the top floor the door was sealed and you had to go back through all the floors and find a secret entrance to fight a spirit and after beating them all you could fight Dilan. I liked the concept but not how it played out, I found it a bit tedious. If you cheated though, maybe you missed it entirely? lol?

I did lose patient with the game at the point you had to fight the spirits, not all of them but some of them were also really hard battles. Then the battles in Azen's Dream were really hard to. At those points I did lose patience, but still I did a lot of grinding but I continued to eventually completing it.

Oh come on in CO1 most maps were not that bad! I agree the beach/island area was crazy. That was a big maze and that took me a while to get through. Also the crystal maze area near the end of the game where you'd teleport to different locations was a bit of a challenging. But the rest after and before were simple enough. I felt though the random encounter rate was too high all the time, but escaping from battles easily made it ok to me.

I suppose the very last area, combination of worlds or something like that was a bit annoying with the black holes. It took me a while to beat that too. Otherwise, everything else I thought was pretty easy.

Haha. Ok? Sometime in the future. :) Do you mean CO3 or the remake? I know so many people said Kelarly's CO battles were all OP but when I played it, other than the slimes at the beginning, the game I found was reasonable except near the end. Then it did get difficult.
The bats in both games, but they're less harmful in the remake (nerfed). The bats gave me more game overs than bosses. I actually never beaten the original castle oblivion game through skill and grinding. I cheated lol.

Yeah I agree in CO3 it can be annoying if they blind you and you can't cure that, but I was still able to get past them alright and at least when blind you still hit half the time. I didn't add that to the review though because it doesn't last too long for me.

In CO1 though I had no problem with them, and I had no problem with most enemies until you have to go back through the dungeons and defeat all those elemental spirit battles. Before that point, if I thought an enemy was too hard I could usually escape from them.

Then bosses starting with Dilan and stuff in Azen's dream were a nightmare for me. I had to do some grinding and upgrade to the best weapons I could find, but after that I was able to beat it.

Lol, ok. What part did you get most stuck on before cheating though?

Played the whole game, finally! Wish I was well enough to do it a few years ago but doesn't matter.

Everything I had to say I've summarized in a review, if it doesn't get approved I'll write stuff out here but I'm hoping it will do since every point I want to make is in that review. :)
Now it's time to play the remake! (the battles weren't as difficult in CO3 but the cave bats are still OP lol).

I managed to past over the temple guardian and the shield generaor and I progress in my games. I managed to arrived just before the battle with Shaun and then... I have problem with my computer. Now with a new laptop is frustrated to play all the game to arrived again in that point. Is any chance that someone have a saved point just before the battle with Shaun?
Check out this video:

Your main focus should be to take out the Shield Generator as fast as possible.
If somebody have a saved point of this game could share with me, please?

It is some special strategy in beating the boss in the 3-rd floor (temple guardian+shield generator)?
Cool! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the game enough to replay it already! The Triple Attack is really awesome, since it basically makes Rebecka the deadliest physical attacker in the game.

It's going pretty great for me and my future games right now. I'm actually working on a really cool game for the McBacon Jam event at the moment. I'm sure you'll love it, since it is a bit similar to the CO games. It shouldn't take too long to finish it either, since we plan to have the game completed for the event's deadline (05/09/16).

After that, I'll resume my work on another game that I've been working on, which is pretty different from my other games. That game is pretty close to completion as well! :) Thanks for taking interesting and playing my game(s), buddy!
Hello.
Playing this again,still secrets :
The triple attack and the hidden room with gold in Oblivion Realm.

So cool.:) .
How is it going for you Luiishu with the new game(s) ?
yes im playing Castle Oblivion: Remake now ,will come back challenge optional bosses of this game after finish it
Thanks for playing, man! I'm glad you liked it. The optional bosses are indeed side quests. I basically added them to the game for some extra challenge (I also had plans for some super bosses that unfortunately never made it to the full game).

If you liked this game so much, I'm sure that you'll enjoy my remake of the original Castle Oblivion even more. Here's a link: http://rpgmaker.net/games/7548/

All in all, thanks for playing and taking the time to share your thoughts.
thanks,i play again and reach the good ending:)
this is one of the best rpgmaker game i have ever play,it is so hard but so interesting, the most i like of this game is map, almost give up when at 2 floor(because alone, rainy, enemy will sometimes absorb mana),but the map attract me to keep on play.
55hours game play, what i pround of myself is did not break any of the crystal, collect all the 30 medal pieces(hiding so well spent 2 hours to find)XD
now the only question i have is about optional bosses,im not required to fight any of them but still get good ending...is it a side quest?
If you've got the Time Bracelet, you'll need to:
go back to the room where you saw the reaper (Death) in the Castle. Talk to the reaper and you'll be able to move on towards the good ending. Good luck!
help,i have finish this game, defeat gaunt and escape from the island, but i believe it is not the best ending(or i did not really completely finish this game),because did not able to save all the people in castle, did not use the time bracelet, and shaun said something we missed, something we did wasn't enough.but i dont know where to find someone could teach me how to use time bracelet?and i read comment there are optional bosses, where to find someone could tell my heros they have optional bosses to fight?
