Liked Castle Oblivion 3? Check out the Remake of the original Castle Oblivion! http://rpgmaker.net/games/7548/

New to the series? For all of you who are new to Castle Oblivion Series, I highly recommend you to check the "History of Castle Oblivion" section!

Story:
A scientist known as Evan has his own hobby of exploring places around the world. Rumor has been told that a treasure is hidden somewhere on a very rare island that is said to be hidden deep within a fog so thick that not even the eye of a deaf captain could see it. As the young scientist prepares to sail out in the sea in hope to find the hidden island, a greater evil awaits them that neither Evan or his companion are aware of. Will this treasure hunt turn out as it was expected, or will a drastic wave change the course of this adventure?

World:
The story takes place on the ancient island of Strombidge. This island isn't the normal paradise you'd travel to on your vacations, this is the island that's so well hidden that no one's ever found it. The story also takes action in a place beyond reality. Is it a dreamworld, or is it a paradise? Is it even real? You'll have to find out about that yourself!

Gameplay and Mood:
The gameplay takes place in 2 different worlds! On the mystic island, Strombidge and inside the floors of The Castle. The game is meant to be fun to play, exciting, emotional, scary and challenging. CO3 will deliver an epic mix of both reality AND imagination. So if you're the fan of games based on true reality or the fan of the games that are surprisingly imaginable, stay on, this game might do the trick for both of you.

Features:
- A mysterious castle filled with over 9 different worlds to explore!
- Exciting and climactic story with twists!
- Fun gameplay with a good mix of exploration, battles, puzzles, scenes and more!
- Well mapped areas with beautiful, creepy, mysterious and unique atmospheres.
- Minimap system that displays in your upper left corner which you can turn on/off at almost any point!
- Secrets! Hidden arrows, items, skills, bosses, rooms, side quests and all kinds of goodies! Gives the game a good replay value.
- A challenging difficulty. The game requires thinking, rather than repetitive
button mashing.
- Two endings! A good and a bad one.

Estimated game length: 30-40 hours.

4000+ Downloads Thank You & New Game Announcement

Howdy! I'd like to dedicate this post to all of you who have decided to give CO3 a go. It's been really wonderful to hear from so many of you that you've enjoyed the game so much, even though it's my very first game. Seeing CO3 alive and active today is a great and motivating treat that keeps me going and exited to develop more and more games. Thanks for everything, guys.

Another thing that I would like to mention concerns the latest game I'm working on. It's called "Cold at Heart" and even though it may not look like CO3 and the CO1 Remake for that matter, it's still pretty similar. Like the Castle Oblivion games, Cold at Heart is at its very core a dungeon crawler.

The game is inspired by games like Super Metroid and Resident Evil and features fully custom graphics and a soundtrack (composed by myself). You can check out the game by clicking on the following logo:

Please note that the game is still in production. The demo available is currently in its Alpha stage, so any potential bugs, or errors are most likely going to be fixed for the full release.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to stay tuned for my upcoming projects!

Hello. Please help. In trial 6 i killed the first firething Then: IEND:CRCerror script sidewiev2(3,3 d) line 2083 RGSS error occured failed to create bitmap.CNxFile object: Graphics/battlers/Ghost Gian png .I had problems with the the ghost gian png earlier but somehow copy and paste from another version and get it right but now its just crashes.
Which version did you download? With or No RTP?

I think it is messing up because you copied over another image with an invalid image file. Is the image still in png format?
Yeah maybe. The image file seems ok but i had 2 and it was withhout rtp.But i downloaded w/RTP and took my save file and it works.
Does it work, like actually now?

I might upload an updated version of the game tomorrow. If your problem hasn't been solved, the update might fix it for ya. ;)
Sorry luiishu i missed your post.Yes it works ,no problem.I finished it and thank you for a really good game.Around 60 hours for me.One of these game you dont wanna come to the end ,just keep playing forever sort of haha.
Thanks for playing and kudos to you for beating it! I'm so glad that weird bug disappeared!

Hey just wanted to say, this is one of my favorite RPG Maker games! I downloaded and played it a little while back, finished it around a couple of months ago. The good ending was so....good. It really, really made the whole journey feel worth it and gave a very warm feeling, and that credits theme just sealed the deal. One of the best conclusions to a game I've seen in a long while actually.

I'm gonna go try out these optional bosses now!

EDIT: Decided to just restart the whole game, I'll hunt down and fight the bosses once I reach the endgame again. This game is fun =3

EDIT 2: You know, despite having finished this game once I am not sure I know what all the stats are for. I would think SPI would effect magic power but it does not seem to do so. On both my newer file and my endgame file, Evan's healing spells heal for the same amount of HP, and his wind spells do the same amount of damage. Is SPI magic defense or something?

Also, the strength and defense stats seem to have a very, very, very minimal effect on how you perform in battle...but maybe this was intentional, since the game is meant to be strategic and not just "SPAM THE MOST POWERFUL STUFF OVER AND OVER TO WIN." I definitely notice a small effect with those, and I have no problem with this either.

still, the SPI remains a mystery as it seems to have absolutely no effect on my spells at all. Could you clear it up?
I'm glad you enjoyed that much! I ultimately tried to make the good ending "worth it", if you know what I mean. Good luck with the bosses! They are tougher, but not impossible. ;)

About SPI, it increases both Magic Damage and Defense. The change differs from skill to skill, but it definitely does increase damage. Slowly but surely (same goes for the other stats).

The grinding and stat increasing items are only meant to be compliments. You'll still, no matter what level, need to use a good strategy that works to survive.

Also, sorry for the late reply. I have not been able to access my computer the last two weeks or so, but I can safely say that I'm back now. Thanks for playing and stay tuned for more updates! :)

Its fine, thanks for clearing up my question!
Fantastic game.

I am trying to fight the optional bosses right now.
I cannot find bosses on floors 3,5 and 8.
I think I fought the boss in the Oblivion Realm. There was a sage ring there.
Can someone give a clue to where they are please.

Also does Evan learn Recover III? and does Shaun learn beyond Thunder III and Vera learn beyond Frost III? Evan is at level 46, Rebecka at 46, Shaun at 44 and Vera at 42. Is the level cap at level 50?

Thanks RPGeez
CAN SOMEONETELLMEWHEREISTHEFINALTDEDDYBEAR ???????
hahhaha >M<
Hey Timmy

The 3 bears are located:
The first bear is inside the cave you first arrived in("Cave Hideout"). The second one can be found east of the south ruins and the third one is behind the north ruins.

Cheers RPGeez

Thanks for clearing that out, RPGeez.

Here are the locations of the optional bosses:
Floor 3: Inside the small cave in the northwestern part of Gyron Town. Floor 5: In the big ice/crystal maze Under Snowlake (North Ruins). The boss is a shiny crystal/ice pillar in the middle of the room. Floor 8 doesn't have any optional bosses.

You've definitely maxed out your partys skills. Level cap is 99 by default, but I see no reason of going up that high unless you want to max out everything.

Cheers and thank you for playing! Glad you enjoy the game. :)
Thanks for the help on the optional bosses luiishu535.

I have finished the game and got the good ending. Very nice RPG and it took me 70 hours to complete. I like to find everything in the game, however there are two things I could not do. Check out screenshots.

How to get to the gold chest and get beyond flame barrier? The first screenshot I can go down the arrowed path however it leads further left. The second screenshot is to the right of the chest but is a dead-end. Maybe this chest is a teaser?

Thanks RPGeez
That is one of the "fake" gold chests on that level (you can see that the chest is already opened a bit). There's another fake chest like that, but the last one isn't. Maybe the light surrounding the chest is a bit misleading.

The path that those greens flames are guarding is also misleading at the moment. There was supposed to be a hidden super boss past there, but I never got the time to include it for the games release. For now, I'm sorry about tricking you with the arrows. If the game gets enough demand at some point, I may consider revisiting the game and add what bonus content I never got the chance to finish.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the enough to finish it with the good ending! You should definitely stay tuned if you liked it, since I am aiming to upload my new game and a 1 hour long demo this week before the weekend!
I'm at the puzzle where the are four switch.
and the color on the switch are red, green, orange and blue.

I believe you're talking about the spike puzzle in the Forest Shrine.
If so, then here's the solution:

Press the the switches in this order: Yellow (Orange), Red and Blue. Don't press the Green switch, as it will reset the puzzle.

Hope that helped you out! :)
Where can i find the small key for the forest shrine ?
What door are you trying to open?
I opened it . . . i find that i did not lit a stand . . . the chest with the small key appeared . . . so , i"m good !!!
